Actually it does. East-med is related to med(an european phenotype), and that's why it's lighter. Irano-afghan is iranid but a little closer to south asian closer. Also, iranid is darker, considered that all iranids(iranians and tajiks) are farther from european and caucasus cluster than kurds, and tajiks are way more similiar in genetics to us than iranians, despite their culture and less south asian admixture. Also, no phenotype is inferior to others.

About claiming afghan ancestry, the only one who "does" that is that weird indian guy, who keeps talking about his grandpa(real weird faggot). But it is a possibility that he has afghan ancestry, considered the fact that punjabis are the most mixed south asians of south asia.
