Are you sure Pakistan does not allow to enter Khyber Agency? I have crossed it plenty of times!Originally posted by torkham View PostNurkillerzai . . . whoever you are, (from my visit in the 80s) If you go to KPK, you will see same plastic bags littered everywhere, on the ground, stuck in trees and bushes, behind every rock, even next to beautiful streams that gush glacial meltwater. It is a rubbish tip, like the rest of Pakistan.
Most of Peshawar is densely populated except the exclusive blocks and housing schemes. The bazaars in the centre like Kisa khwani are like labyrinth of narrow alleys, will multi story houses where long ago Hindu's like Kapoors lived. You might even see s pashto speaking sikh. People are busy either with work or busy waiting for work (laborers), see day laborers waiting in misery is the most saddening sight. Plenty rich too in their Landcruisers, but in the 80s it was Pajero's.
You will see significantly less women wandering around compared to Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, and if you do they will be covered. Those who are not covered are mostly from outside KPK. You will see chai khana's everywhere, and smell of rosh
Cantt. looks nice, clean, organised. Only passed by it.
The road leading to Peshawar from Islamabad is clean with agricultural land either side.
Up north through Dir, Lowar etc who landscape changes, rugged, jagged mountains, narrow winding roads, dusty but less polluted. People are more relaxed.
Even farther north, it is much cleaner, the plastic bags still randomly littered, but fresher and cleaner. People are more relaxed.
Never beed to south KPK. Never seen DIKhan or Tank . FATA is also much cleaner, clearly less urban, therefore more rural beauty. People are more direct and down to earth, really nice. But the Khasadars may not let you into FATA unless you can convince them you got relatives there. If the merger goes ahead, it might be easier to go to the Maidan area of the Afridi's or further to Wana, Miranshah, Razmak, beautiful places.

Salman when security situation deteriorates the khasadars tighten their checks. Like asking purpose of visit, ID card check, who are your relatives FATA, especially if you don't speak Pashto. That was the case in the 80s and 90s going to Michni Point on Landi Kotal road. Maybe it is relaxed to Darra, because visitors would spend money there, I havent been there.
Last week I was in Chaman via Quetta, however the checks were on the way back to Quetta bcz of the ludicrous threat attributed to Afghans bringing their sick for treatment, especially from Maruf area. This is a side issue to OP re KPK, but to see Afghan families waiting on the side of the road on Khojak pass just waiting for nightfall so they can circumvent ID card police, shameful situation Pakistan has adopted.
As for Paktika for capital, you mean a town in walayat Paktika, like Sharan don't you? I would say Khost be a more central city to be a capital of your adventurous proposition. I think KPK shall remain KPK and/or a poetic name for the region Ahmad Baba affectionately remembered, but not as an independent political entity envisioned by some LarBar dreamers.

Depends on what part of FATA you are going to. Places like kurram and waziristan have an ID card system cuz of how those areas have a high threat risl or whatever but ice heard khyber and mohmand etc. are pretty much easy to get into. Either way tho all of the pashtun areas other than the ones near to punjab are to some extent swarmed with army checkposts so it doesnt make much of a difference anyways.Originally posted by salman47 View PostAre you sure Pakistan does not allow to enter Khyber Agency? I hate the check posts very much.Originally posted by Nekrofrost View PostDepends on what part of FATA you are going to. They're pretty useless for 'Pashtun' areas, but useful for 'Pakistani' areas. When going to any Pashtun area/village, the army doesn't check ****(no checkpost basically). But if you are going to 'Pakistani' areas, they are ****ing annoying and expect everyone to know Urdu 'f**king natively'...
Also if one of our areas is 'Burned'. It is completely fine for Pakistan.
And for the record there are no military checkposts from Peshawar City to Punjab Border(along motorway) to Karachi(including the whole of Punjab and Sindh:no checkposts)...Last edited by salman47; 01-14-2018, 04:19 PM.
