I see this a lot on various Paki sites. That they beat the Soviet Union in Afghanistan.

Is this seriously some propaganda spread by their military? How delusional can these Punjabis be if they actually believe that?

Pakistan did not fight in the war at all, and the ISI’s involvement was detrimental if anything. Those s c u mbags were pretty much just spying on the Mujahideen, and attempting to prepare a puppet government for the post-Soviet occupation (and that failed miserably LOL).

The only real assistance they provided was giving the Mujahideen a safe haven to plan their moves (along with the rest of the refugees), but they were being paid by various international organizations to do that (and they stole a lot of the aid money for themselves). Sorry Paki nationalists, but giving the winners of a war safe harbor doesn’t mean you won the war, it means you picked the right side with whom to ally yourselves.

I will say that the assistance provided by the Pakistani people was real and very much appreciated, and we won’t forget it Inshallah. May Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) reward the people who provided the Afghans with assistance and welcomed us into their lands.

Pakis like to take credit for everything(alot like the americans) and think the world revolves around pakistan when it doesnt(the amount of times pakis have told me famous stories about einstien or some other famous guy but replaced it with quaid e azam is tooo daym ****ing high). yes pakistani nationalists take credit for defeating the soviet union in afghanistan. Im really not sure where they get this idea from though, the fighters were mostly afghans with some foreigners and the funding was provided by the usa. pakistan was just where usa and saudi were funneling their support from since america couldnt outright oppose the ussr, which is why it was a "cold war". pakistan was kind of like the middle man in this situation they didnt really do anything against the soviets, claiming they defeated the soviets is just egotistic chest thumping. even the people i know from kpk that hate afghanistan dont claim pakistan was responsible for the soviet withdrawal, this is more of an army fanboy thing

Is an army totally aid dependant on foreign donors, American, Saudi and Chinese sponsorship, and looting their own country and people.
