I have relatives from Lower Dir, KPK. A very beautiful place unlike anything in the UK. I have many fond memories of visiting there during my childhood. The road trip from Islamabad all the way to Kalam or Malam Jaba or even Saidu was something we did at least a few times a year - my other relatives and various servants (all from same region) would visit their villages once a month. Sometimes we would stop in Peshawar and Karkhano was essential back then and also we would make a detour for the special kababs in Takht Bhai or even Tharu although the ones in Dir were just as good tbh. I haven't visited beyond Peshawar in over 10 years tho mainly because my parents wouldn't let me. Next time when I go to Pakistan I intend to visit the old "kalay" - I won't say which one but has a funny name.

Ever feel weird constantly lying about yourself?
Sometimes you’re Kandahari, sometimes you’re from a village in Pakistan, sometimes you’re an Indian.
Why not just tell the truth instead of having so many fake accounts and personalities. You’ve already shown your face, why can’t you just be honest about yourself and cut the act?

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

I am not from one single ethnicity. My dad is something and my mother is something else. We have to take the father's ethnicity in our culture. BTW I never said I was from a village, I said I have relatives there and visited as a child. I can be of Kandahari descent and be an Indian = although I'm not an Indian because I wasn't born in India and they won't even give me a visa, I'm a Pakistani - although my passport is British.Originally posted by maneatinglizard View PostEver feel weird constantly lying about yourself?

Basically:
My mother is from the border region of India and Nepal. She says she is Sayed.
My father was born in Karachi but his father was from Delhi. My father's family (as documented in a book we have) claims to be Arab-originated and also Rajput paternally and Pashtun on the maternal side - my father's mother and her relatives do speak Pashto and somehow we are related to Dost Mohammad Khan - we have medals and stuff from that era clearly bearing his name. I was born in the UK but lived mostly in Pakistan.
Due to intermarriage, there are various ethnicities and religions within my extended family.
Here are some I remember right now because we were all together over Christmas:
Qasbati/Awadhi/Lakhnavi (Sayid descent)
Dehalvi (elite class of Delhi)
Muhajir/Urdu Speaking (the ones who are from Karachi)
Rajput (of Gujarati descent)
Punjabi (of Rajput descent - some immigrated to Punjab and over time, assimilated and adopted that identity)
Bhojpuri/Bihari/Purbiya
Yousafzai (though marriage)
Sicilian/Catholic (through marriage)
Indian Punjabi/Sikh (through marriage)
White British/New Zealander (through marriage)
And probably more that I've forgotten about.
At least one of my grandparents was actually from Afghanistan. The Afghan arc of my family is "Kabuli-Kandahari" that means they are Kandaharis who settled in Kabul - the elite ruling class that is. My father has been to Kabul university and there, he learnt that one of his ancestors was actually apparently the prime minister of Afghanistan for a while. Then later, at some point, they were exiled to India. And that's how they met the Indian part of my family."Za d mazaro pa kaat khob kam, zma janan pa double bed kawi khoboona..."Originally posted by Bengal_TigerHe is a very clever guy, very intelligent. Remember when I cared about what you had to say? Oh right, never. I quote you and mock you to my heart's content. You don't like being called out for what you are, go away.Originally posted by زده کوونکی View PostWhat's up bitch? Remember when I told you not to quote me again?

Remember when you said you were gonna ignore me because you couldn't handle talking to me? Why not do it? It'll make the weak attempts at trash talk coming out of your dirty charsi mouth all the more hilarious.

No point ignoring you because this isn't like Facebook or something where I can actually block you. I'll still be able to see your annoying posts when I'm not logged in.Originally posted by maneatinglizard View PostRemember when I cared about what you had to say? Oh right, never. How about you this:
You can say what you want and I'll say what I want.
