Now I am only Pakistani on my mother's side who is Multani though her family hails from Gurdaspur district in Indian Punjab. My father is from Hyderabad Deccan and is a Hyderabadi Urdu-speaker. Historically my community has always been distrustful of the kind of ethnic based leftist politics that destroyed the Muslim world (Nasserism in Egypt, Baathism, NAP in NWFP and Bhutto's Peoples Party). We are not and have never been peasants. This kind of leftist ethnic nationalism has always been a thing of the uneducated peasant masses, though their leadership ironically hails from the aristocratic feudalist class. We are middle class people and have been hurt by policies like nationalization and the stupid quota system. Furthermore we are socially conservative and very much attached to our religious identity. This is why we absolutely detest these leftist parties like PPP and ANP. It is not out of any enmity toward Pathans or Sindhis, it is much deeper than that.
But as you yourself admitted, these parties capitalize on the ethnic hatred that Pathans and Sindhis have for "Muhajirs" whom they regard as Indian foreigners who came to their ancestral lands to exploit them. Of course nothing can be further from the truth. Our people are urban and business class, their people were peasants, who do you think was going to dominate the urban centers of the new country? It's common sense, but they resent the reality.
Bacha Khan is traitor? Traitor? You shouldn't comment on things you have little Idea about!!
We Pashtuns of Pakistan have full respect for Bacha Khan, Khushal Khan Khattak, Mirwais Khan, Ahmad Shah Durrani, Nazo Ana, Malalay Bebe, Ghani Khan, Hamza Khan etc... These are our Leaders/Heros/Heroins/Idols not the ones an average Pakistani believes in. Sorry to hurt your feelings but whatever the Pakistani Establishment teaches it's citizens is a load of Pure Bull****!!

By this logic ISIS are the best representation of islam as they call themselves real muslims but you know how islamic they are. Just because somebody likes the aesthetics of communism and the color red doesnt make them a communist. If you admit it yourself that they dont care avout ideology then why tf you here arguing and calling them something they aint?(btw "traitor bacha khan" seriously? The dude never even really called for separation after the partition so dont be an idiot)

Great knowing your lineage and all but i think you are forgetting thay pakistan isnt only muhajirs and has punjabis, pashtuns, sindhis, baloch, gilgitis, etc. And each ethnicity is different. While most of the eastern ones like punjabis, muhajirs, etc. dont like leftism and egalitarianism and prefer being ruled over, us pashtuns prefer a more freer society. Thats why leftism makes sense to some of us as our society already has many elements of it and the few that we dont are mostly just the cringey western dumb****ery that even most leftists in the west are getting sick of.
Also what are you even doing on this forum with you cant understand what the term "maajar" meant in that context god...

The reason communism temporarily took hold in Afghanistan is not because we had some special affinity for it, but because the Soviet Union bordered us and valued the geopolitical benefits of having a friendly puppet state there.
Well actually id say that they did take power but the soviets thanks to parchami kuna warkawal took over very quickly cuz thats what they did at the time. Again thats what i heard from a few of my friends so i can be wrong.

I consider Bacha Khan a traitor because he was a follower of the Hindu fanatic Gandhi and part of the Congress Party, hence his nickname "Frontier Gandhi". Then when there was going to be a referendum in NWFP to join India or Pakistan, "Frontier Gandhi" asked there to be a 3rd choice of "Pakhtunistan". I absolutely loathe Bacha Khan and consider him a traitor.

Of course Pashtun culture is more egalitarian as it is more tribal and freedom-loving, like the Arab Bedouins, I appreciate that. But I don't like the political parties that Pashtuns are voting for, either ANP and now PTI. Both are secular non-religious parties. Pashtuns have traditionally been religious and conservative people, how can they support parties that are in favor of bey ghairati and fahashi in society?

Pashtuns only voted for MMA in 2002 because they were upset about American occupation of neighboring Afghanistan. But the Pathans of Peshawar are otherwise too liberal for my taste. Of course my own people are also very liberal and westernized, but now you can see that religious parties are gaining ground in Punjab, as evidenced by the NA-120 by-election in which 3rd and 4th place went to brand new religious parties competing for the first time.

I confess that I don't know much about pashtun culture, though Afghanistan history does interest me, I don't know a word of Pashto and it all sounds like Greek to me because it belongs to a completely different language family, whereas I speak Urdu, Punjabi and understand some Saraiki. But I'm here to learn more about your culture and what your people are all about. I just hope you guys are good representatives.

Okay, I have trouble believing you aren't a troll after this comment. What he meant there is obvious to anyone who knows English, and after your odd pseudo-Shia beliefs yesterday, and your attacking of Pashtun society and figures today, it's pretty obvious you have some agenda here.

I know English quite well, in fact I had to explain to someone here that "Business is in our blood" is an expression not meant to be taken literally. But I disapprove of considering anyone an "idol" even figuratively.

My only agenda is to share my thoughts and have thought-provoking discussions, especially on religion and politics but also history. Why do you think anyone who has a different point of view must have a nefarious agenda about registering to this discussion board? If we all agreed with each other all the time life would be boring.

What perspective are you coming from? I see the Antifa logo in your avatar. I'm coming from an Islamic perspective (Panjpiri maslak). We obviously are poles apart. But I wander if you consider yourself a Muslim

Pakistani nationalists say a lot of **** for example they are claiming Pakistan existed since ancient times. Reading such BS you never know what Pakistanis mean seriously or if they are using hyperbole.
                              you got it now?
