I just realized that in the entire of my adult life, I have not once given eidi to my younger siblings which is pretty sad, knowing that the youngest is now in his 20s.
We are always complaining that wos is not fun in the west but if we followed these little tricks, maybe the charm of it will return. What I miss about it is being surrounded by my relatives and cousins but that's okay because I pretty much hate human interactions at this point.
Do you guys give eidi?? How much??.

Yes the custom of giving Eidi is an integral part of the occasion itself in my society.
Growing up , I never gave my siblings Eidi and they've all been adults for many years now.In many families including mine , parents don't give their children Eidi. But Eidi is given to nephews and nieces or a friend's kids or a younger cousin(if the age difference is that much).
The amount varies according to how well off the family is , of course.
