For a film , he has fabricated his lineage. He is claiming royal linage from Barakzai dynasty but the person he is mentioning to be his great grandfather is Ahmad Jan whose full name was "Hakim Ahmad Jan Khan Hindi" from which it appears he was of Indian descent.

He's from Peshawar. Unfortunately his claims of being pashtun have some degree of validity... particularly from his father's side. No, we're not proud of him. The way he ran off to India is a ****ing disgrace.

There is some thing fishy with his claim. On twitter he is saying that his grandfather Mahfooz Jan (son of Ahmad Jan Hindi) was killed in Bacha Saqao revolution. While his father Arshad Sami Khan from Peshawar (who served in Pakistan Air Force and Foreign Office) was born in 1942. So a son was born 13 years after death of his father.

I doubt he's lineage. He's to the core an Indic. This thread was also opened on pdf and the Pakistani members were bashing afghans. After 2 posts i couldn't post anymore.
