Pashto is an useless language. Thats why nobody bothers to learn it. You guys want to boost and empower your language? Its legit but in order to do so, you need to increase your soft power. Only way to do so is through a strong economy, strong culture, strong unity, strong politics, strong science, strong technology,.. Pashtuns lack of all those things. Thats why your language is dying.

BTW Youn is a fascist. I didn't expect you to like him.

As long as we remain racial narcissists, we'll preserve some of our culture. I think the reason it's still alive is because of this.

Come on,. you can make that argument about all Asian languages besides Chinese and Japanese.

The usefulness of a language depends on the people using it and what they're using it for.

You're being biased. Get rid of the bigotry.

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

By this logic every country/ethnicity in the World should ditch their own language and just adopt English.

No language is "superior" or More "useful" than the other. Its the people working behind those languages that make the difference.

Pashto in and by itself is not useless. Its a tool for Communications like any other language. If Pashto or any other language dies out, its because there is No incentive to keep said language alive.

If you listen to the whole speech of Mr Youn, He answers all your points including the one about him being called fascist.

Incase you missed what he said, Youn said Afghanistan is garden with different flowers (languages, ethnic groups) and a garden doesn't look good with only one type of flower. He said all people of Afghanistan should be free to be educated in their mother tongue and we should even preserve langauges like Pashayi which is spoken by very few people.

Does that sound to you like the words of a fascist?

White supremacists say similar things. But they also claim they are superior and non-whites are inferior.

Ismail Youn is a little vicious midget. If you are a fan of him than you are no better than Pirdosi.

You got me wrong. I didn't mean to bring your language down nor insult you. Languages are tools for communications, to understand each other. Pashto is not an attractive language and you know I am right.

Farsi is not in a much better situation yes its lingua franca in Afghanistan and Iran but it used to be lingua franc in the entire ME, CA and the Indian Subcontinent but its not anymore, do you know why? Because Persianspeakers lost all their soft and hard power. As I have pointed out in previous comment in order to become important again we need to strength our economies, our culture, our science, our philosophy, our states, and so on.

Empty words, Shapur. Its all BS. I have watched his channel Zhwandoon and the guy is all the day stirring up ethnic animosity among Afghans and praising Pashtun supremacism in Afghanistan. I have even been told that Yoon wrote a book during the Taliban rule claiming that non Pashtun women form the north should be raped but not sure to which degree this is true.

I respect your desires and your rights, Shapur, but Yoon is the kinda of Pashtun who want to bring back Pashtun supremacism like four decades ago. Those times are gone. Get used to it or you will face more misery.

I don't agree, Pashto is a very zesty and spirited language. I especially enjoy the Kandahari dialect but I think all dialects are nice. I also enjoy Farsi and think it should be commended as well.

My cosmology is not ruled by "Farsi vs. Pashto" I think there's a future for both if we keep a focused outlook.

Prove it that Youn said Pashtuns are superior to other ethnic groups?

I know labelling people without evidence is your favourite hobby but you need some evidence as well.

In all his talks, he is intellectual and his claims are normally based on evidence. He has mentioned that the Jihad has been hijacked by certain groups of people and only people from certain groups are counted as national heroes while those who are fighting against the current regime are deliberately left out even if they are the true mujahids. You should be bis fan too since he defends your heroes and clarifies misconceptions against them.

You need to back up your claims with solid evidence. I watch Zhwandoon tv regularly and I have listened to many of his talks, none of what you claim is true. If speaking the truth or defending the rights of your people makes him a supremacist then so be it. I have never heard him insult other ethnic groups, claim Pashtuns are superior or that others should be opressed.

I label people and I say stuff and I back it up with proof. I've posted quotes, books and videos for whatever I have claimed. If I was wrong I have admitted my mistake. But I never talk nonsense. So don't start getting personal. Because I can dig up numerous threads where you chickened out when I brought evidence.

Regarding that little fascist midget, he believes in Pashtun supremacy and he always expresses his views. It's no secret.

He explained why he wants all Afghan citizens to have the word Afghan on their ID cards. He says that we mus be a nation-state of Afghans. Even though, a very significant number of our citizens aren't ethnic Afghans.

He also backs Pashtun candidates in every election because he wants only Pashtuns to rule and govern Afghanistan.

In his own writings and speeches he expresses the idea of Pashtun dominance over other ethnicities in Afghanistan.

That's why Muslims and other ethnicities hate his ugly little fascist face. With his wanna-be hitler moustache and hair.

You can't force anyone to accept your ethnicity as theirs. The whole notion of nation-state is a western inventions and it is not applicable in vastly diverse multi ethnic societies in the Muslim world.

He wants a nation-state based on Pashtun identity and he wants others to submit to his idea and live in denial of their own heritage and identity.

If you think that's not fascist, you need to read Hannah Arendt's book called The Origins of Totalitarianism.

                          Regarding Pashto language,

You can agree with most of that fascist little midgets arguments without endorsing him as a person or his ideology.

Even fascists can have valid and legitimate arguments. But that doesn't mean their ideology isn't bad.

The truth is, Yoon contributed to Pashto language and I have personally benefited from his work. I also think he is right when he says that we are our greatest enemies of our own culture, language and identity.

We can discuss his arguments but we should never endorse him as a person. That's the difference between being an intellectual and a fanboy.

While I don't agree with some of your views, I admit that was an unnecessary dig at you. I know you backup your points with proof but in some cases I simply don't regard your sources as credible and of any value such as your arguments and proofs against Rumi's (ra) character.

Regarding that little fascist midget, he believes in Pashtun supremacy and he always expresses his views. It's no secret.
he doesn't believe in Pashtun supremacy, he wants the rights of Afghanistan's largest ethnic group i,e Pashtuns to be safeguarded along other people's rights. He wants to stop the killing of Pashtuns in the name of Talib, communist etc.

He explained why he wants all Afghan citizens to have the word Afghan on their ID cards. He says that we mus be a nation-state of Afghans. Even though, a very significant number of our citizens aren't ethnic Afghans.
Even many farsiwans share this view so does it make farsiwans who hold the same view as pashtun supremacists? Some people believe just using "Afghan" will unite people. All nation states have minorities, as long as all their rights safeguarded and they are treated as equal citizens, there is no problem. Afghanistan's constitution (whether you think its legal or not) guarantees the rights of all ethnic groups and Mr Youn accepts this constitution. Its the citizen's duty to make sure the government honors the constitution.

He also backs Pashtun candidates in every election because he wants only Pashtuns to rule and govern Afghanistan.
I am sure that's not the case. I have heard him say he will back whoever is loyal to the interests of majority of Afghans.

In his own writings and speeches he expresses the idea of Pashtun dominance over other ethnicities in Afghanistan.
again not true. I have heard his speeches and he doesn't hold this view.

You can't force anyone to accept your ethnicity as theirs. The whole notion of nation-state is a western inventions and it is not applicable in vastly diverse multi ethnic societies in the Muslim world.

I agree that the current boundaries drawn by colonial powers was a deliberate ploy to divide and rule and keep people busy over trivial issues.

I agree that people shouldn't be forced to do anything. You have to keep in mind however there are many non Pashtuns who preferred to be called Afghan rather than Tajik for example. The farsiwans of western Afghanistan have never identified as Tajik while farsiwans of the north do identify as Tajik.

Mr Youn is definitely not fascist, he is just against a certain group of troublemakers who have hijacked the rights of all ethnic groups and claim to be their representatives.
