And yet Punjabis assure 'gul khans' and rest of the world that Pashtuns are around 40% of Pakistani army......Whenever some one on defence.pk pointed out that Pakistan army is dominated by Punjabis, they always said that Pashtuns are around 40% of Pakistan army, that Pashtuns are over-represented in proportion to their population while Punjabis are not.....many gul khans themselves have jubilantly told me that hey look we are 40% of Pakistan army, our martial spirit is held in high regard etc lol. Even Indian-Mohajir community of Sindh , thought to be lacking interest in military, have better representation than Pashtuns. There were three Army generals from Indian-Mohajir community (Mirza Aslam Beg, Jehangir karamat and Pervez Musharaf ) while from Pashtuns only two (Gul Hasan and Waheed Kakar)

Its ISPR figures that Pashtuns are 13.4% and they promised to increase it by one percent. Its unknown whether they actually fulfilled their promise. And most importantly ISPR may not be truthful at all in telling exact ethnic composition, after all they hide their casualties figures.

This should be an eye-opener for the Pathans and Pashtuns of Pakistan. Their martial spirit and valour is utilized for chowkidaari or mercenary jobs or as disposable militants by Pakistani state.....and they are obviously not trusted beyond a certain level .

Well unlike Afghanistan in Pakistan we have a relatively good track record of ethnic harmony regardless of who's ripping off who . Punjab has a population of 100 million so its natural it will get majority of the budget . This is a very simple idea to understand there is no rocket science involved . In UK , London gets the most budget because it contributes the most to GDP and has the most Population . You don't have to be an Einstein to understand this .

We can take the example of army here :

        Pakistan's Military-Ethnic Composition - Pakistan

        PAKISTAN'S ARMY COMPOSITION
        Picture
The percentage of the different ethnic groups as of 2007:
Punjabis: 53.19% (represented accurately because it has half the population)
Pashtuns: 21% ( 15 % of population but still more in percentage )
        Sindhis: 13.5%
        Kashmiris: 9.11%
        Balochis: 3.2%

KP is doing even better than Punjab these days . The secret is to elect good people . KP in three years alone has outclassed all Provinces in performance despite having the lesser budget . You are not going to see harmony and prosperity if you elect people like Gul Agha Sherzai , Dostum , Karzai and all those filthy warlords .

This is more narrative pandering; the Army is intrinsically an institution not representative of the whole of society because it selects only those who will tow the party line and not necessarily disaffected peoples. So you can get all sorts of wayward distributions which have no reflection of society as awhole.

You need better propaganda tactics sir it's 2016/2017, The internet world is more sophisticated than the days when your ancestors were claiming Headless Gurus took on whole armies.

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

Pakistan's Cricket Captain is Pashtun (Misbah ul haq ) Some of the greatest Names in Cricket have been Pashtuns ( Afridi , Younus Khan , Imran Khan ) , The two times Pakistan won the world cup was led by Pashtun captains (Imran Khan 1992 and Younis Khan in 2009) , Footballs captain is Pashtun (Muhammad Essa) , Squash's greatest players in history have been Pakistani Pashtun ( Jahangir Khan , Jahansher Khan , Qamar Zaman , Hashim Khan ) , Pakistan's First Female Squash player was Pashtun (Maria toorpakai Wazir ) and the list of Greatest Goes on .

Now Consider we are only 15 % even behind Sindhi's by Population Share . Again I know It's very hard for Afghans to understand ethnic harmony and how it works because you guys basically want to kill each other so that everyone of you can make Greater Afghanistan/Tajikistan or whatever that is you guys want to have .

Also not representative of disaffected populations; Are you familiar with the House Negro phenomena? Well you might not be since self awareness isn't your forte'

Here's what a House Negro is.

Now take a good look in the mirror; what overlap do you see?

              .
Misbah is not a Pashtun but a Punjabi....and you are acting like those Indians who say 'look we have this much Muslims in Bollywood, Indian-Muslims are doing fine".....if we go by numbers, then entire number of Pashtun players since 1947 is less than 10 in national team

And Afridi is a shyt player, not a "greatest" player......

Survey Methods | Pew Research Center
                    Survey Methods

Results for the survey are based on face-to-face interviews conducted May 22 to June 9, 2009. The survey in Pakistan is part of the larger 2009 Pew Global Attitudes survey conducted in 24 nations and the Palestinian territories from May 18 to June 16, 2009, under the direction of Princeton Survey Research Associates International. (For more results from the 25-nation 2009 poll, see ”Confidence in Obama Lifts U.S. Image Around the World,” released July 23, 2009.)

The table below provides details about the survey’s methodology, including the margin of sampling error based on all interviews conducted in Pakistan. For the results based on the full sample, one can say with 95% confidence that the error attributable to sampling and other random effects is plus or minus the margin of error. In addition to sampling error, one should bear in mind that question wording and practical difficulties in conducting surveys can introduce error or bias into the findings of opinion polls.

The sample covers roughly 90% of the adult population. All four provinces of Pakistan were sampled excluding areas of instability in the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) and Baluchistan.

All of Pakistan's money goes into funding its online "Cyber-Engagement Team" and it gets smashed to pieces by a Tribal Afghan .....tragic.

I can sense the frustration because Afghans aren't exactly the brightest of people when it comes to inter racial/ethnic harmony . That would be like trying to tell a cow how to fly a plane . The Polls can be held now in FATA since instability is pretty much finished there .

A single billionaire from Pakistan can pretty much buy all of Afghanistan . I wouldn't exactly worry if they ever had a plan to fund me .

There were 22 terrorist attacks in pakistan in 2016, large percentage of them in FATA, you're fooling yourself.

But I digress, the fact is, your citation admits that it's slanted, You rely on self admittedly unreliable data.

You can get by with just Pashto but you need to know Farsi in Kabul to interact with the locals. Kabul is more multi ethnic and you can find Hazaras, Uzbeks which you don't see in Peshawar.

Interesting, now it make sense why Taliban can't conquer Kabul as easily.
