  • For KPK residents: Has PTI made an impact?

I have heard that PTI has done great work in the limited time that they have been in charge, for example increasing salaries of government employees like Police, Public school teachers etc which has improved performance. How true is this and can you guys who live in KPK notice the difference?

I feel ANP is losing support among the young generation in KPK and supporting PTI instead. Is there any hope for ANP in KPK outside their tradtional strongholds?

They have also minimized corruption and has improved efficiency and work of various departments......No longer is the case that government employees are asking for bribes openly....In ANP's time, i was feeling suffocated, each and every where there was Rishwat-khori , at each step they were asking for rishwat and you were even getting deceived after paying bribe.......

That being said, PTI wont win next time............People here have short term memories and they easily succumb to propaganda, as they are Akhorats .....the masses of this province think why PTI has not done this and that, while totally ignoring what they have achieved.

Its good to know that PTI has done some good work. I also like PTI micro hydro power dams scheme to meet the electricity demands of KPK. Such innovative schemes were unheard of during ANP or JUI's government.

Some people see PTI as a threat to Pashtun identity because Imran Khan has the charisma and appeal to turn the Pashtun youth to full fledged Pakistanis where national Pakistani identity will become more important than ethnic Pashtun identity. I have seen PTI supporters call ANP walas Afghan, Majar lover whenever they say something bad about PTI or its policies. How do you see things?

Thats true......but its to be expected , as PTI is a mainstream party......but its not that PTI has changed them, they were like this from the beginning, due to schooling. Pakistani education and literature brainwashes you into thinking that loving and caring for your mother tongue, heritage etc is wrong.....

Unlike panjab and sindh, KPK never really keeps a party in power for too long.

PTI is a utility of the Army to use as a balance against the other parties.

Pakistani pashtun already has a huge Pakistani identity . He is a Pakistani first and Pashtun after thar .Did you see how Peshawar celebrated 14th august this year? Only in Afghan mind they think they prefer Pashtun identity first which is not the case.

PTI has been the best government in KPK's history . In short 3 years they have had numerous achievement but I will highlight few of them here .

                1. Police

KP police is the best in the country right now . Completely depoliticised and efficient . Before MP's used to have ASP and DSP of their choice not anymore . Bribing the police will cause trouble for you now .

                2. Tourism

KP has an active tourism policy right now which has attracted alot of foreign tourists to its shores . Buddha statues in Swat are being rebuilt , metalled roads to all mountain resorts , Rebuilding Ski resorts and revolutionary measures like opening up of Govt rest houses for public which once were only available for Ministers .

He said facilities would be provided purely on merit and no priority would be given to the likes and dislikes of MPAs or MNAs.

He said K-P has great Buddhist heritage and the provincial government would revamp those sites to attract international tourism. Imran also announced the establishment of three national parks in K-P.

“If Fata becomes part of K-P, promotion of tourism would continue in the same stead for the tribal areas as locals from the region have rendered tremendous sacrifices for the country.”

SWAT: As peace returned to the scenic Swat Valley, so did foreign tourists.

The interior minister relaxed a rule which required all foreigners to obtain a No Objection Certificate to travel to the Malakand Division this year. As a result, a steady stream of tourist made their way to the valley, residents said.
