• My Professor Passed Away.

Salaam everyone.

I found out this afternoon that my thesis advisor passed away a couple of weeks ago. He was a very dignified and respectable man who had a beautiful way of looking at the world. While he wasn't Muslim, in fact he was an Eastern European Christian by upbringing, his character matched that of how a Muslim should be. I believe that ultimately everyone enters Jannah even if they may spend sometime being purified before entering.

My Basis for this is from the verses of the Holy Qur'an.

Behold, We alone shall remain after the earth and all who live on it have passed away, [30] and (when] unto Us all will have been brought back. - 19:40

Please wish the best for their afterlife. He was very inspirational and he will be dearly missed.

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

Wishful thinking. I've had close people pass away that are not Muslim it's sad knowing they will be in jahanam for eternity, but there's no running away from the bottom line.

The view that everyone eventually ends up in jannah is typical for Ibn Taymiyyah. Majority of scholars however disagree and some even made takfeer on him for suggesting that hell for disbelievers is not eternal.

Please stop using every thread to pick fights, there's a thread specifically intended for you. take this there.

Manzareh I realize not everyone holds this view, but I also believe within every human soul, even an Atheist, deep deep inside, they have the "ruh' of Allah(swt), this is our true selves, the self that went into our mothers womb, pure and perfect. It's just this world we've accrued our "damage". I'm told almost every human will spend sometime being purified before entering Jannah, depending on how we lived on Earth it will determine how much time we spent in this process.

The only exceptions are the Prophets, Messengers, The Promised Sahaba, The Genuine Saints and the Sincere Martyrs (Shuhada), they go straight to Jannah. But Allahu 'Allim, it just makes sense to me that when a human soul is made from the divine spark, that it must ultimately return to the divine source.

My former managing director passed away recently as well. Please pray for him. I credit him for making me smarter i.e. as smart as I am today. I will always have immense respect for him.

Ijma of overwhelming majority of scholars is that hellfire is eternal and the disbelievers will reside in it for eternity.

But I agree never wish hellfire on anyone rather pray that they had some faith in Allah in their heart which they never really displayed, and Allah willing he will have mercy on them.

^ Load of crock. You guys are primitive hillbillies. There is no proof of there being any hell or hellfire. No proof Muslims go to any Jannat and non-Muslims go to hellfire. Heck we dont even know if there is any kind of an Allah (SWT). If there is any Allah (SWT) let him strike me dead before I end this sentence with a period.

Universe is mysterious, so far the visible universe is 100 billion light years across, yet muslims believe that Allah is sitting on his seat some where up there, how primitive is that? Do you morons even know the size of the universe to even suggest that?

Like I have said before, while every human has good and evil in them, from my observations, non muslims are better human beings then muslims, I have lived in so many countries, muslims and non muslims to say this. Muslims should be the last people on earth to judge anyone. People existed long before any of these religions came, we were living in Africa as hunter gathers for most our history, this is proven by science, there was no religion back then, so all those humans also went to hell according to your primitive beliefs?

There is no any GOD, all religions are fake and men made, don't worry about hellfire and heaven, roaming to collect audience from science and history which of-course are men made, isn't it a believe in itself?
aren't you forcing us to think and to believe as you consider the Universe?

Something can't come out of nothing. Just like you came out of your dad's balls, and not out of nothing, so did everything else in the Universe came from something else. This source of everything is God. God created the universe, and everything inside it.
when did I say anything about existence of God you moron? I am talking about the way Muslims believe in God, it is very primitive

I believe in a creator, always will, not just the muslim idiotic way

The Claasical Mufassireen have interpreted "Arsh" as representing dominion and "kursi" signifying the enacting of dominion. Just as you are appalled by the shallowness of people that abide by religions, you should reflect on the shallowness of your understanding of things. Ultimately everyone goes to hell except certain individuals, but those that enter hell will eventually go to heaven after they've paid their debt. So yes they're in hell, but they're also in heaven.

How do you know? Lets assume a guy born in Christianity does good all his life, believes in God til his last breath, yet he still goes to hell? and what was his fault if he was born in Christianity? again muslim belief is very stupid

and no regarding kursi, we all know most muslims take that as literal

Everyone goes to hell (except Anbiya, Awliyah and those the Anbiyah promised, or those Allah has accepted directly)

Meaning Muslim, Christians, Jews, etc etc will all go to hell, some will spend longer sentences in Hell depending on their iman and their deeds. I don't know if a Christian will go to heaven before a Muslim, but generally speaking, pious Muslims enter heaven first, then those who did good from other groups. Then the non-pious people from all religions, then the Atheists or Zandiqs, then the hypocrites ....or something like that.

But ultimately every soul goes to heaven and returns to Allah because every soul is made from Allah(swt)'s ruh.
