Since sixty percent of Afghans rely on agriculture for their livelihoods, advances in the Agriculture sector of Afghanistan are critical to food security and economic growth. As such, United States assistance to Afghanistan’s agricultural sector has focused on increasing income productivity as well as food security through the use of modern technology. This year USAID Capacity Building and Change Management Program will be installing solar power for three District Agriculture Offices in Nangarhar province. This project will provide renewed and uninterrupted electricity as well as introduce modern technology for agriculture officers enabling them to better communicate, have better access to information, and provide better agricultural services to more than 7000 farmers residing in the area.
Do you agree that introducing modern technology is critical in developing the agriculture sector of Afghanistan?
