funny how one should see it that way. he seems like a rude, arrogant and disrespectful individual to me. irfan khan's expressions express his disgust with him and the message that is meant to be sent of this character to the general viewers which is other indians.
so in other words, your hero here is not being put in good light but being portrayed as an arrogant and disrespectful individual who does not know how to greet or communicate with his friend. but good to know that you think seeming like an ass is something that one ought to take pride in.
also, are you a middle aged indian housewife??

I agree, point was to show Abdali as uncultured and barbaric pathan.Originally posted by DaZahroJaam. The video was for laughs, you didnt find the crispy dialogues funny?. Irfan Khan is a main villain in the series, but the historical character he is playing , was actually a Hero for us (villain for Hindus).....Najib Khan Rohilla (the charcter played by Irfan Khan) is described as finest noble in India by officers of East India company who met him.Originally posted by DaZahroJaam. That being said , i have read the biographies of Afghan/Pashtun nobles of Mughals. They are described as blunt in their speech, some what rude, and simple in mannerism and life style , very different from Mughals and Persians. If Abdali didnt speak like this, some of the others surely did....a contemporary historian tell us that Muhammad Khan Bangash (a nobleman of Mughals) complained that when he rides on elephant and pass through streets of farrukhabad (India), the Afridi children throw stones at him as such high ride break pardah of their houses. He also complained that his "crude" countrymen condemns him on his face for adopting Nawabi life style like Indians. Pashtuns never had this custom of bowing and doing arshi salams and sajday to their own Kings.......all the pashtun chiefs used to sit on the same level with the Lodi Sultans, on the ground. Ibrahim Lodi tried to change that, and it cost him his throne.Last edited by Samandri; 04-20-2016, 10:32 PM.
