Joint Afghan US Operations Targets ISIS

[Aria2013]

Extremism not only affects Afghanistan and the region, but also has an impact on the international community, and fighting it is not only in the interest of Afghanistan but all of us. In a recent joint Afghan-U.S. operation in Achin district of Nangarhar province, where IS extremists have expanded their activities, a number of them were killed and their communication links destroyed. The strikes targeted IS communications equipment which was set up on top of a mountain used to communicate with IS members in Iraq and Syria. The United States remains committed to train and mentor Afghan Security Forces and this includes support in counterterrorism operations.
With training, mentoring, and support of the United States, how effective do you think Afghan Security Forces will be in countering extremism in Afghanistan?
