  • Social Media in Afghanistan

The fast proliferation of social media in Afghanistan has provided new opportunities for young Afghans to communicate to a worldwide audience. With more than 65 percent of the population under the age of 25, social media has become a major tool in social change. It has provided increased access to information, education, and forums for discussion and debate among the youth as well as between government and citizens. Today, according to the National Information Communication Technology Alliance of Afghanistan (NICTAA), millions of Afghans have online access through computers or smartphones with Facebook and Twitter being widely used as a platform for self-expression and a medium to have their voices heard. Would you agree that social media has become a major tool in social change and it’s going to bring continuous improvement to the lives of the youth in Afghanistan?

Send me a pic of your sister.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

Most divisive pages promoting ethnic hostilities and moral degradation on Facebook are financed by foreign organizations. These pages are responsible for increased tension between Afghans of various backgrounds. The current Pashtun versus Tajik tension is fueled by social media pages. These pages either receive funding from Iran or America or some other entity.

Just have a look at Facebook in Afghanistan. Most of these pages advertise themselves to draw more likes and followers. Their main message is negativity, fear mongering, hostility and hatred.

While tv stations are doing the same dirty work on television, these pages go a step further by giving the most disgusting individuals a platform to promote their hatred and negativity.

Dont talk nonsense. I can give you specific examples of advertised pages on Facebook doing what I described.

Do you have any example of advertised Afghan Facebook page doing what you just described?

Obviously, you don't. Because as usually, you get drunk and then type nonsense.
