  • Martyrs Day Afghanistan

September 9th marks the fourteenths anniversary of the death of Afghan national hero Ahmad Shah Massoud. Massoud is known to his admirers as the “Lion of Panjshir”, a name given to him for his success as a military commander during the war against the Soviet occupation. He is revered by many Afghans as a national hero whose murder just two days before 9/11 was intended to eliminate the resistance to the Taliban. As we join the Afghan nation in honoring the death anniversary of their national hero, we extend our best wishes and continuous friendship and partnership as they celebrate this national holiday.

no one is a national hero in afghanistan. if you contributed to the civil war or were in charge of things while the government scattered in to pieces, you should have a national day of shame dedicated to you.

no one is a martyr, no one is a hero. most definitely not sell out warlords.

I wonder how many Pashtuns consider him a hero.

That is not true. By claiming to be participating in jahad against the Russians, he won the loyalty of a lot of Pashtuns. I remember when he was killed, the family members of our neighbours went to pray his janaza. Most of those men couldn't even write their own names let alone be westernized.
I remember being surprised because animosity amongst the Pashtuns and people of panjshir in general is quite obvious otherwise.

Maybe the government was scattered to pieces thanks to neighboring countries intervening and sabotaging it from the onset? You are dumb.

Always funny to see an inherently warlike people like Pashtuns suddenly become human rights activists when it comes to Uzbeks or Tajiks

And who let that happen?? Afghans. pashtuns, Uzbeks, Tajiks.. All of you together.
And while we are at it, you are one of those *******s who goes around wanting the word afghan to be removed and replaced with Tajik and pashtun, aren't you?? How is that working for you all??

You all want a piece of the pie to yourselves but when time comes for taking some responsibility.. Then you all run off in to your own little corners.

Always refreshing to see 20 something year old Massoud supporters speeding through Kabul and firing weapons. They even managed to shoot a child in the back. Apparently this is somehow legal in this legal set up we have in Afg. Bravo.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

He was anti Taliban and had secular ideas. If he was a woman and alive today you would be sending nude pics of yourself to him.

I don't think the fact he wasn't a woman would stop Khostai. After all he's Nemat Sadat's alter ego.

He never fought the Soviets, he made agreements with them to attack Pashtun fighters who were fighting the Soviets.

Yes because as my post history shows, I have very strong northern alliance leanings and I am a strong Massoud supporter...

Khostai aka Abasin aka Nemat Sadat; would never forge a narrative

I mean look at this thread

A place where you can simply socialize and interact with the Pashtun diaspora across the globe.

Clearly mocking a Pelican beaked Tajik Nationalist with a Massoud tattoo displays how Pro-Massoud you are.
