I hope no one gets angry with this, but from what I have seen the average Punjabi looks closer to Afghans than to Sri Lankans. I don't think I have ever met a a Pure blood Sindhi in my life so I couldn't give you my opinion on that. By the way Sri Lanka massacres and oppresses it's Muslim citizens. So supporting Sri Lanka is like supporting Israel. Which reminds me of another country that has a similar practise and is also allies with Pakistan: China. So much for the country of "true Islam".

I heard that there was a Buddhist chauvinist movement a year or two which - inspired by the Buddhist racist monks in Burma - wanted to start trouble against the Muslim community in Sri Lanka, but apparently (unless I'm wrong) the authorities have nipped that in the bud.

It depends on what group of Pakistanis. The pashtuns are (obviously) closer to Afghans in phenotype than Sri Lankans, same with the Kalash, Kashmirs, and some Punjabs. But from what I remember Pashtuns invaded what is today's Pakistan and Northwest India. So that's why a lot may have a little pashtun blood in them. They don't really look like Afghans, but compared to Sri Lankans, they look closer to Afghans. The rest of the groups in Pakistan look closer to Sri Lankans.

Also to the person who keeps going around on every single thread saying that Afghan pashtuns are mongolion, I don't know what point you're trying to establish. Pasthuns are NOT Mongolian, they're Caucasian. There is nothing that supports that claim. Yes, the Pakistani pasthuns who don't live along the Afghan border tend to look indic, but that's because they mixed with their population over the years. The afghan ones look like Afghan Tajiks and Iranians because that's who we're related to the most. Also keep in mind that a lot of Pakistani pasthuns aren't ethnic pasthuns, but people who were "pashtunized."

Most Punjabis are closer to Sri lankans in my experience, only some individuals here and there are closer to afghans

I do not have a good opinion of Pakistan as a state or army which is controlled by Punjabis. Racism is backward and ignorant. One can compare this in the same way that Tajiks/Hazaras/Uzbeks control the regime in Kabul. This is not to say that those in "power" represent the majority of Punjabi,Tajik,Uzbek, or Hazara people who suffer the same in terms of exploitation and poverty, but not as bad as Pashtuns whose lands and regions have been the focus of war for decades.

This topic of race is one of the most pathetic topics. This is no generalization, but the race topic is an obsession of Muhajirs from Karachi because they feel like they are at the bottom of the stratified society in Pakistan (which is unfortunate). Both the stratified class based society is unfortunate and the feeling that one is low (a consequence of such a society)

This thread is not genuine because the poster has raised this topic several times in the past. It is implied that being from Sri Lanka is negative when you consider the posters discussion about skin color and eye color (appearances). Pathetic!
