Hate to break it to you but there is no such thing as a Muslim name per se... rather these are arabic names... arabic names which were around in Pagan arabia but did not conflict with islamic teachings see Omar as in Omar bin Khittab ( he was a well known polytheist before becoming muslim)
any name is a muslim name so long as the teachings of Islam are not contradicted so a name like Abul sham would be unacceptable as it implies being a slave of the sun where as a name like Peter for example coming from the Greek petros or Rock would be ok...

None of the above are "Muslim" names. They are just names that some Muslims have.

Actually, the only real Muslim names are names like "slave of the most merciful" or "slave of allah". Or "slave of the most just".

Other names that sound arabic are nothing but just arabic names. Or names of people from a predominant Muslim population.

A Pashtun name does not necessarily have to be a Muslim name. For example, some of the Khalqis I know who are blatant atheists have sons with names like nangialay and barialay.

And likewise, there are Christians in Arab countries with names like Abdullah.

You should change the title of this thread to "some random names I like".

i was talking to a middle aged man the other day who introduced himself as siamak. i couldn't help but burst out in laughter. the afghan version of the name is siam so the siamak sounded so childish.

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.
