  • Ethnic background of members parliament KP and National Assembly

Here is the list of the members of the provincial assembly of Pakhtunkhwa. I don't know about other areas but many of the members from Malakand (Swat, Dir, Buner, Shangla, Malakand Agency) are not Pashtuns, e. g., Mohammad Sheeraz, Fazal Hakim, Amjad Ali, Jafar Shah, etc. from Swat are not Pashtuns. Similarly, from Dir, Innayatullah, Muhammad Ali, Muzzafar Said, Saeed Gul, Bakhth Baidar, etc. are not Pashtuns.

So the opinion that people vote on the basis of lineage is not correct.

"Bakht Baidar (بخت بیدار) was born in a small Village known as Kityarai. Kityarai is situated in Dir lower, Pakistan. He is a social worker and politician. He himself admits that he belongs to a poor family. His father had a small tea-shop. Bakht Baidar has accepted in several interviews that he had worked alongside his father in the tea shop.

Many people support him because he gives respect to everyone and listens to their problems."
