Check this ish out. Apparently there is an Afghan fighting on the side of the rebels in Ukraine. Who knew?

Some Afghans are now actively seeking a war to fight in! I would translate what he says, but I'm lazy. Plenty of Russian speakers here That said, the guy doesn't seem like a bad person, so I do hope he comes to his senses quick and gets the f out of there.

Poor guy hasn't been home for quite a long time I think. He says he moved to Russia in 1985 and was brought up in an 'internat' (an orphanage). I think he is just seeking a place to 'belong'.

That's a load of bs. My Russian is perfect, yet that doesn't make me Russian. He said that the moved to Russia in '85 and was brought up in an orphanage; he had plenty of time to learn proper Russian. His obsession is not so much with the slavic people as more with fighting against the 'West' which he holds responsible for all wrongs and evils of the world. Obviously, that's a debatable point. And he looks his age. If he moved in '85 to an orphanage, he was probably a small kid back then. Let's assume that he was born in 1980: that makes him 35-ish now, so no 'grandpa' by any stretch of the imagination.

Well, he says that he isn't being paid for his services and that he is there because of his ideals. He came across as quite passionate, so who knows, maybe that's true. What is certain however is that the war in Ukraine is no business of Afghans and that he shouldn't be there. Hopefully he will come to his senses quickly. Then again, the chances of that happening are rather slim.
