Religion is the sum total of beliefs in one or many supernatural entity, modes of worship and a set of morality. Worship can be ritual or spiritual.Originally posted by DaZahroJaam. View PostWhat is your definition of religion?? And which one do you find most appropriate to follow if any??
Politics, culture, economy, science, philosophy etc are not part of religion. The problem of Islamism is that it mixes religion with these other aspects of life.Islam is just a religion with its own beliefs, modes of worship and ethics.

Morality is one thing and beliefs another thing. In religion belief is meant for some supernatural entity like God ,Angels, heavens etc while morality is what ought to be. What is good, what is bad. E vil, virtues, sin etc.Originally posted by DaZahroJaam. View PostDo you have a set of "moral beliefs"?? What are they known as??
Morality is relative but some moral values are universal like truth, honesty, justice etc.
Sex with consent is not a sin but forcing some one for it is a sin. Muslims focus more on sex than evils like corruption, contamination, dishonesty etc. They will kill an unmarried couple for sex but will tolerate evils like corruption, theft, hypocrisy.
for me anything with bad consequences is evil and immoral.

have you looked in to any other religions which you may find more agreeable?? I didn't ask you about Islam. I don't know why your idea of religion or morality is limited to Islam especially if you have such disagreeable impression of it.
Have you tried looking in to other religions??

Belief and relligion are two seperate things....Originally posted by DSM0305 View PostTo say it short, my definition of religion is belief. Yes, in my eye atheism/atheist is also part of religion.
Relligion is the whole establishment of relligious books, worship placess and clergy.
You can have a belief if you just belive in a god but don't do any of the other things.....

Then what is the difference between a belief and religious establishment. And in that case. Do you believe that Buddhism isn't a religion, but a belief...Originally posted by Khostai View PostBelief and relligion are two seperate things....

Belief in a God or some supreme being is simply aknowlidging higher power but knowing that all the so called relligious books including Quran were modified by people and changed to fit their agenda.Originally posted by DSM0305 View PostThen what is the difference between a belief and religious establishment. Budhism what is practised today is no diffrent from other relligions, its mostly fabricated and distorted. Budhism that is practised in Nepal and some other east Asian countries is relligion, but if you believe in enlightment but not the other nonsence that the budhist monks preach than you can see budhism also as a belief.....

According to you. Having a person preaching a certain belief is a religion. Yet, if no one is preaching anything, then it is just a belief... Does that make sense to you...
What if I preach a belief then, does that make it a religion then. What about if two persons have the exact same belief, but the one preaches, the other don't...Don't quote me or speak to me if you hate Afghanistan, you be ignored.

You can not preach belief, when you start preaching your belief it becomes a relligion. And you can't have exact same belief and at the same time one preaches and the other don't, a belief is not meant to be preached.

Well, I told mine in the first post. Religion and belief is exact same thing according to me.Originally posted by Khostai View PostYes, I don't know what your defenition of relligion and belief is?

So according to you. One have to stay silence for it to not become a religion... So basically a Muslim or Christian for that matter who doesn't preach his beliefs, actually doesn't follow a religion at all...
I personally believe that one have to spread his belief, the same way one have to spread knowledge. According to me at least.
Well, each have their own cup of tea.Don't quote me or speak to me if you hate Afghanistan, you be ignored.

Not just preaching, but the whole relligious establishment and following that relligious establishment. I am against preaching of your beliefs becuase I don't know if what I belive in is 100% turth, muslims preach becuase they think that the Quran is 100% word of God. And everything what Islam stands for is the only truth....And makes Islam a relligion and not just a belief.Originally posted by DSM0305 View PostWell, I told mine in the first post. But yeah each their own cup of tea I guess...

Well sex outside of the appropriate framework can be argued as being a form of "corruption, contamination, dishonesty etc."Originally posted by Badlun View PostMorality is one thing and beliefs another thing. Are you familiar with the evolution of morality?
