  • Afghanistan's Economic Outlook

Afghanistan’s new administration is working hard to strengthen its regional ties in order to promote economic growth and stability for its citizens. During a recent visit to Turkmenistan President Ghani shared his vision that Afghanistan’s trade and transit can create many opportunities within the country and the region. He called Afghanistan a bridge and emphasized that energy, electricity, and natural gas will be sent to Afghanistan and to other countries through Afghanistan. He is also advocating for the production and use of domestic products to boost the economy stressing that reducing poverty and unemployment would be his priorities in the coming years.
How optimistic are you of President Ghani’s economic plans for Afghanistan?

Mod--this Irkoni needs to be banned!

Valid? Afghan state did not come to being due to servitude of Parangee nor as a result of religion identity—successor of Shia Turk Saffavid—Irkon! The simple fact that Afghanistan have had been paying for her existence with her blood make its very legal! Even our status as buffer signifies what was left of Afghan empire drawn by blood of Afghan people!

Oh it didn't? What was Afghanistan called prior to Shah Shuja Al Mulk? People dying for nonense; doesn't make it no longer nonsense.

The problem with Afghan nationalism and Theocracy is they live in mythologized versions of history which are not accurate to the real thing.

I can post Dari sources but then someone said you are Arab, not sure if you can understand Dari. English sources---read Barburi Namah and I believe there is Tari e Freshta too--English version. Not that it matters what it was called, the fact is Afghans (Pashtons) have been living in this land for thousands of years and have had self-rule/struggle for independence since 15 century. Persia in 1932 came to be known as Iran does it mean the country is illegal?

Yeah I saw that post in the other thread; I have him on ignore, the guy is a Bangladeshi projecting his angst onto me and thinking I'm the "Pathan" guy who rejected his offer to marry his sister. I can read/write Dari, but obviously I'm not the best at it since I came from Afghanistan when I was 10.

I'm not disputing Pashtuns have been in this region for a long time. I won't say thousands of years because there's no mention of Afghans prior to 1000 AD. But I agree that our ancestors were here for thousands of years....whoever they were.

I'm just saying that the entire region is Pakistan, Afghanistan, even India and Iran were carved out by Imperialist powers; this whole region was screwed from the start.

Looks like you two have history with each other.
Off course national states is European concepts and have no history in our region prior European colonization (as you put it imperialism) but to say that national identity did not exist or is illgal is not right!

Nah I don't even know this guy; all I did was call him out for spin doctoring commentary everytime he posts "news" and he's started this angsty campaign

well if you mean the Pashtun identity clearly we had our own unique culture and identity for at least a millennium.

We just can't hold a nation together because most of us are not ambitious.

On contraire too ambitious--always stepping on each other---like the story of Alexander the great who send 10 Afghan tribal chief to Greece--give them one bed to sleep---instead of giving the bed to one and rest sleeping on floor--all slept on floor and had one legs up in bed. We never unite and never accept authority—this is our greatest weaken and straighten—the reason no power can subdue us.
