March 8th marks International Women's Day, a global day celebrating the economic, political, and social achievements of women. The theme of this year’s celebration, “Empowering Women – Empowering Humanity”, envisions a world where women can exercise their choices, participate in politics, get an education, have an income, and live in societies free from violence and discrimination. This year we celebrate and honor Afghan women’s contribution to promoting democracy and taking active roles in politics, civil society, free press, and the reconstruction process of the country. Happy International Women’s Day!
