At present women make up about 2% of Afghanistan’s police force and with the aim of gender equality more female officers are being recruited and trained. A training center dedicated to Malalai Kaker, a police woman who was assassinated by the Taliban in 2008, was established in Jalalad to train and help female police officers overcome the challenges they are faced with. Would you agree that recruiting more women into the police force is critical for the safety of Afghan women?
