  • Year in Review

The 2014 Presidential election, the historic and peaceful transition of power from one elected President to another, the establishment of a Unity Government, the signing of a long-term security agreement between Afghanistan and the United States, and the planned drawdown of US and NATO forces were all significant events that have paved the way forward for a prosperous Afghanistan.
Looking back at 2014, would you agree that it was a year of big achievements?

Nope, it was a terrible year.

There was vote rigging, both candidates had ties to leading human rights abusers, and the results of the election almost caused serious ethnic conflict.

The BSA means America will continue to control Afghanistan.

The drawdown of US forces means nothing if the BSA is signed. Also, why leave now, when 2014 was one of the bloodiest years? The closing ceremony in Kabul had to be held in secret, due to the threat of Taliban attacks. What does that tell you? Has victory been accomplished? What has been achieved?

A country with tribal system of thousands of years and now with the menace of Taliban and Islamists, it is indeed a historic achievement that one elected government hands over power to another in a peaceful way. Give the devil its due.

Think over a scenario that NATO or USA do not appear in Afghanistan and Taliban keep on ruling the country till today! Will you accept it?

Why we do not understand this simple fact that USA is in Afghanistan because of Taliban/ No mosquito , no Malaria. No Taliban. no USA. Now they are drawingdown , so give them the credit that they leave an Afghanistan without the active rule of Taliban. Now it is up to Afghan to manage their affairs. For how long USA will handle our own issues?

BSA is just a security agreement with the super power of the world. It is normal that a country signs security agreement with other countries. USA helped us getting rid of Taliban, so we must be thankful to them.

Taliban existed before their arrival and now they do not exist at least in active form like recognized rulers of the land. USA did not occupy the land like Arabs sued to occupy foreign lands and declaring it part of their caliphate.
