Have you drank chai? Coca Cola? or Coffee?
All of these contain a substance called caffeine, it is classified as a drug.

Have you every smoked a cigarette?
This contains a substance called nicotine, it is classified as a drug.

In fact nicotine is the same chemical in Naswar. Naswar just has higher levels of this substance as compared to a regular cigarette.

Most cigarette tobacco is harvested from a plant called Nicotiana tabacum, which yields nicotine levels of 1-3%. While Naswar is taken from a plant I hypothesize (from various research endeavors) to be Nicotiana Rustica, which
is significantly more potent than its cousin N. tabacum. Its nicotine levels range up to approximately 9%.

So now that we have established that Naswar is more or less the same "drug" as a cigarette (with significantly less potential to damage one's lungs and burn one's house down), let me explain why I requested this information.

The addition of Chuna (slaked lime aka calcium hydroxide) is added to the powder of the N. Rustica plant to assist the body in nicotine absorption.

It is crucial to have an accurate ratio of Naswar powder to Chuna. Too little, the Naswar will be weak and not as pleasurable or as strong as it should be. Too much, and you will burn your mouth with the alkali (calcium hydroxide is a strong base, as opposed to an acid).

If there are any Naswari's around please PM me, as you are the only people who could possibly understand......
