Things are dependent on to whom you are getting married. One situation is which I think Syed Rasool Rasa has nicely mentioned like:

Moong pa dolae ke ham khabar na you che cha la zoo,

then expectations will be different. There will be nice feelings waiting for some one nice partner and expectations can be worse also.

However the marriages with pre-understandings which are rare in Pashtuns (ya here in this forum will be more, but in our society as a whole without pre-understanding) brings different expectations. You discuss more or less all issues and then opinions and then you where and how to compromise. You know her and she knows yours week points and also likes and dislikes, then everyone tries to avoid the dislikes and do the likes, then life is running well.

However, I expect that a lot of differences will be there, as now I decide what I will and sometimes just my mom because of her health as she gets worried then, otherwise 100% free decision, where to job, what to do, where to go, where to stay, with whom having a company, what to eat, what to wear etc, but then many of these decisions will be interfered by someone else. Even you cannot decide yourself when to sleep and how long to sleep.

Then such interference can make the life a bit difficult but the nice feelings that someone is waiting for me at home is precious. As now I feel no difference between my Lab and home, as both are more or less same except I have a bed to lye in my aprtment and lab lack it.
