I hear these liberal hippies talking about the evils of child labor but that is where the discussion ends. Its bad to them because they are kids and kids should be playing and not working, typical 1st world mentality and ignorance of peoples conditions. The reality is that these kids work because their families are poor and they need money to survive, even if companies exploit the vulnerabilities of these populations in order to pay them peanuts and disregard basic common rights.
So what say you? Kids in poor countries working and you wearing the clothes their tiny fingers made. Good or Bad?
I say until the economy of a nation catches up to the point where parents alone can provide for a family and kids don't have to work, its a decent opportunity for families. Granted, there should be strict conditions on how these children should be treated and whatnot but I don't see a problem with it because without this income, its the difference between starving and just getting by.
It bugs me that these entitled westerners (yeah, i am one too but still) don't understand that children have always worked for 99.9% of timeline of the human race and for necessity.
