    April 28 marks Victory Day in Afghanistan, a national holiday observed to remember the end of communist rule in Afghanistan when the Mujahedin defeated Soviet forces and subsequently, on the 28th of April, 1992 (Saur 8, 1371), captured Kabul and overthrew the pro-communist government of President Najibullah. In the past Victory Day has been celebrated in Afghanistan with parades of army and police along with national music, dance, and special speeches by government officials. This being said, there are also critics who view Victory Day as the beginning of civil war and believe it should not be celebrated. What is your opinion on the commemoration of Victory Day in Afghanistan?

    It was a victory day only for those that wanted to "give USSR its Vietnam" and fight the USSR "till last Afghan". For Afghans, especially Pashtuns, and the wider region, it was a big loss and the beginning of the worst tragedy in the history of the region.

    To understand what I want to say, read the interview below of the de-humanized, rabies-bitten war-monger-or and imperialist, Zbignew Brezenski.

    Q: When the Soviets justified their intervention by asserting that they intended to fight against a secret involvement of the United States in Afghanistan, people didn't believe them. However, there was a basis of truth. You don't regret anything today?

    B: Regret what? That secret operation was an excellent idea. It had the effect of drawing the Russians into the Afghan trap and you want me to regret it? The day that the Soviets officially crossed the border, I wrote to President Carter: We now have the opportunity of giving to the USSR its Vietnam war. Indeed, for almost 10 years, Moscow had to carry on a war unsupportable by the government, a conflict that brought about the demoralization and finally the breakup of the Soviet empire.

    Q: And neither do you regret having supported the Islamic fundamentalism, having given arms and advice to future terrorists?

    B: What is most important to the history of the world? The Taliban or the collapse of the Soviet empire? Some stirred-up Moslems or the liberation of Central Europe and the end of the cold war?

    As if the so-called liberation of white-skinned folk is more important than the millions of Afghans and Pashtuns killed.

      I clearly remember the so called victory day or as I remember it, looting day.

      The first thing these so called mujahideen did was to loot all government buildings in kabul, then it was the turn of shops and finally they started looting houses.

      Everyone was scared to leave their houses. soon these mujahid-looters started kidnapping boys and girls for sex and also kidnapping for ransom. there was killings and since all the inmates in the Pulcharkahi was released crime sky rocketed.

      That is the day when I said to myself, screw this country, this is not a country, this is a fn zoo and I want to get out as soon as I can. thankfully we were lucky to leave on the first plane that left kabul after the airport was opened.

        aria is proof of government waste. this dude probably has a 6 figure salary while only a few people here buy his bs.
        There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

          Aria seems to me like one of those guys in the army sitting under his comfy chair behind a computer in a Kandahar air base trolling the hell out of us while getting giggles out of it during the process.

          I think he's one of these guys lol;

            Aria is dead serious.

            People who do things for giggles end up being the subject of giggles and laughs, they're the perennial losers who will always lose, because they're stupid and stupid people like to giggle and laugh.
