  • African girl in a human zoo, Belgium 1958

I can't believe this was happening as recent as 1958 in Europe

^ They use to collect humans from Africa, and else where to put them on display

These guys have certainly forgotten their brutal history very quick.

There's still a lot of white people who are racist, it's in their blood, they learn it from their parents.

the other day at a store, this four year old boy in-front of his mom points his fingers at a black man and says "Momma what is he" out loud. that dude was pissed at the mother (and had the right to be), he gave it to her straight up "You're a horrible mom". I talked to him a little bit afterwards, and came to the conclusion that the kid probably learned it from listening to one of his dad's quirky/rant remarks about black people.

he was legitamely hurt by those words. like he wasn't a human

has there ever been a single day through which a thread about skin, eye or some other physical appearance or other hereditary matters have not been discussed in pashtun forums??
tells alot about us as a society and where we put our priorities.... we walk around insulting people by referring to them as 'panjabies' and what not..
we are no one to judge.

The difference is that these punjabi insults are politically motivated while many whites genuinely see non whites as sub human or backwards people who need saving.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

when is ethnocentrism not political or racist? we will put aside the fact that your immediate response to this thread was your need for pointing out the fault of the 'white man'.
i think a good reason for passing around this picture would be to remind us how far we have come in the last 50 years or so as a civilization, not to point out the tendency of people with this or that color of having the highest probability of being at fault for hate crimes.

considering the topic and picture is about whites treating a black person like a zoo animal, my critique of white people is not exactly out of left field.

I am not focusing on skin colour, racists exist everywhere, in every society

              This is my problem though:

              from the Human zoo article:

Ethnographic zoos were often predicated on unilinealism, scientific racism and social Darwinism. A number of them placed indigenous people (particularly Africans) in a continuum somewhere between the great apes and humans of European descent.

^ Basically they use Science to say the European man is the most evolved, while Africans are the most primitive, closes to apes. A lot of people still believe this, a lot, they just dont say it out loud, this is the only difference.

                    This is nothing.

During the Arab slave trade, Arabs would castrate african males and humiliate pygmies and thought they were good for nothing entertainment tools.
