Woman microwaves kitten

Laura Cunliffe, 23, put Mowgli in the microwave after thinking she had attacked her goldfish, Barnsley Magistrates' Court heard.

Cunliffe then arranged for the kitten to be buried after she died a slow and painful death.

Brian Orsborn, prosecuting, for the RSPCA, said Cunliffe had had the kitten for a few months.

He said she put four-month-old Mowgli in the microwave oven which she set on five minutes and left it.
