You know, there is a typical Afghan douche-bag guy archetype that for some reason a majority of Afghan girls "find cute". I say a majority because there are always exceptions.
It might sound like a lame excuse but in trying to be liked and trying to be cute, I have tried to act like a typical Afghan douche-bag. But at the same time my heart has never been in it. It has always been an inner struggle, and that struggle and confusion has reflected itself in how I have acted.
I'm not sorry, I don't regret any of it, I consider it part of the journey. I no longer live in illusions and I no longer sell illusions, so for the first time in my life I feel like I have achieved something.
