  • Knowing vs believing

... If any religion was the absolute truth then its followers would see no need to pray, repeat religious rituals and carry out all those religious tasks passed down through the ages.

In the past when there was no rain for a long time, people prayed and carried out rituals so there is rain. Today with weather forecast people know when it might rain or not, so there is no need for praying.

The weather forecasters cannot make the rain happen, though man can create artificial rain, like they use to in Saudi Arabia back in the 80's, but that is really dangerous and screws up the natural weather.

^Your post made me think about the simple fact that we all want to be cute. I mean, this thread itself might be an attempt by me to be cute, and it is. Its embarrassing and yet by saying I'm embarrassed once again I'm trying to be cute.

I'm not cute and I don't want to be cute. I'm in fact the opposite of cute, I make people unhappy, because I'm selfish... So, cute is the ego trying to be massaged and inflated, trying to be cute is simply being selfish.

Say no to cuteness sister-in-law and become serious.

All of the world's problems as well as personal problems starts with belief.

Some believe in democracy, some believe in religion, some believe in not believing in religion, some believe in nationalism and another on some other -ism. No one really knows something, because in order to know one needs insight, in order to have insight one needs to live without any illusions. After all what could be a bigger illusion than believing.

When one is confronted with a physical pain, such as a headache, one does not sit there and think, I believe I have a headache, one knows immediately. In fact believing that one has a headache is madness, the same way that believing someone loves us or hate us.

If people stop believing, stop living by some Disney script in their head, they will be free of illusions, and with freedom from illusions comes peace.

You know what you believe, and believe what you know. Physical pain is just an illusion created by your nerve system, making us believe there is something wrong.

After all an illusion is another word for reality. Your belief is your reality.
Don't quote me or speak to me if you hate Afghanistan, you be ignored.

If you think physical pain is an illusion then prick a needle in your finger.

If your belief is your reality then ask yourself, how does your reality feels, if it feels alright then its fine, but if your reality is a hell and by that you spread that hell to others, then your reality is distorted by illusions.

If I do that, then I will feel pain. Since pain is an illusion, why would I create an illusion for myself?

                So you're agreeing with me?
If you don't respect another human being's intelligence, you always end up in a situation where you know you cannot go forward and there is no way back. That is hell.

So staying still is hell, or is hell staying still? If you cannot go back or forward, go to the sides, then it is not hell, correct?

I assume you never understood Afghans, you somehow think of us as inferior. Inferior to your Arab lineage. You think we're a simple and stupid people who can be manipulated, who can be mocked and who can be slandered.

Why do you think like that? Without us you're nobody. Without us talking to you, you have no friends. You're in our house and yet you throw your garbage around, mock and insult. What the fk is wrong with you, you balouchi piece of sh1t?

So am I a Baloch or an Arab, maybe something third? Remember your reality is just a belief, and your belief is an illusion, which means your reality is an illusion. Don't take the step or you will take the fall, said a wise man once.

Keep typing, keep going, you'll run out of words at some point, and when you least expected it, all of this will come and bite you. That is the Afghan way.

We Afghans accept insults if its true. I insult all Afghans and because I tell the truth, it somehow does not hurt them and of course they know I'm one of them. But you, you some cheap dried up arab wannbe balouch, you've made it a profession to hate Afghans and pashtuns. You have turned this forum into a bad publicity for Pashtuns and the powers that be who put you here is oblivious.

We have not been serious, because we somehow underestimated where your actual venom came from.

                            Good discussion. Enjoyable.
I believe in justice. Justice is give the devil its due. Every thing whether concrete or abstract has its place, its importance and its use.

Religion is based on beliefs and there is great beauty in religious beliefs but if it is kept limited to metaphysical and spiritual ambit.

Science is observation and experiment and has its own beauty. Philosophy is reason and logic and has its own significance. Intuition is another path towards ultimate reality. Let us enjoy all at the same time in its own sphere of influence.

God you cannot see or know so the only way towards God is religion or spirituality. For material development, use science and for rational pursuits you have Philosophy.

No beliefs in Science and Philosophy but there is room for beliefs in Religion. Science is based on knowledge not on belief. Intuition is direct experience but no experiment.
