  • Liberation Day

February 15th marks Liberation Day in Afghanistan. It was declared a public holiday in 2005 and became effective from 2007 onwards as a celebration of the date Soviet soldiers made their exit from Afghanistan in 1989. On this day the Afghan President and other officials give speeches that are broadcasted throughout the country to stimulate solidarity and national unity.

With election campaigns going on, will Liberation Day this year motivate Afghans from various ethnic backgrounds to unite as they are electing their future leaders?

That joke lost its novelty a very long time ago. Humour us, not. Liberty. Yeah right.

Afghanistan has always been free, the fact that Afghanistan thinks its imprisoned by someone is a sign of how mentally fkup Afghanistan is.

nothing says liberation like a foreign occupation.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

Of course Afghans and Afghanistan are free.

Those aren´t free who have accepted defeat and enslavement.
              Afghans haven´t.
              Simple as that.
              The only constant is change.

That is the funny part about the whole liberty thing, isn't it? People think they're free and yet they're not. Its not someone else who has put them in prison, its simply the conflict between their destiny and their ego.
