  • Real world contacts and chalking out strategy

Its really great to see friends here discussing all issues related to Pashtuns. These efforts in virtual world are appreciable but we can also chalk out some strategy in contacting each other in real world.

We can make country wise groups and can meet each other once in a month or once in two months or whatsoever is convenient to the members. This will give a real touch to our efforts and discussions.

I am working in a multinational company and these days I have to attend a workshop in USA(Chigago) for 10 days. If friends living in USA or nearbye wish to start the first contact of this kind then we can meet in a public place and can discuss with each other ways and means for the uplift of Pashtuns , Pashto and Pashtunwali and can talk on other related themes and then we can continue meeting each other and participating in various seminars and events related to Pashtuns.

Please write your commens here and may PM each other or send emails,

Malgariya, are you starting a 'Myth Buster Club' or something? Ideologically, you belong to the worst form of political thought, that of accusing the Pashtuns of everything and glossing over the great injustices done to them.

I dont have any special agenda for such real world contacts. Just an idea that we can organize such meetings with the comon cause of doing anything for Pashtuns, Pashto and Pashtunwali. If any one opposes my ideas then even this we can discuss face to face along with the contiuning discussions here. And just to clarify my approach that I dont accuse Pashtuns but tell them what they lack and what has to be done to overcome the problems by not blaming others but reforming ourselves.

If we really wana do any thing for the betterment of pashtuns, pashtunwali and Pashto then we also have to coordinate our efforts in the real world by organizing get to gether meetings, seminars, conferences etc and we have to disclose our identities otherwise our efforts will remain limited only to virtual discussions and write ups.

If we have some problems to meet in Chicago then friends can meet each other whenever they can and whereevr they wish and with whom they wish. It was just an idea that we may also meet each other and do some thing practically what we are discussing here in any style, any place and in any group.

Thanks a lot Marwat but as I already requested these meetings may not be Chicago based or something related to me only. Pashtuns generally and friends here specially who are members of this site or other Pashtun sites and forums may devise strategies and may organize meetings in the real world too. This way we can implement the ideas we discuss here.

We can organize meetings, seminars, conferences , talks, speeches, musical evenings etc and may participate in all gatherings related to any issue or any theme related to Pashtuns, Pashto and Pashtunwali.

We can follow the pattern of other Cultural and Religious centers , groups and organizations. If Muslims, Jews, Atheists, Environment groups etc can meet each other in such events why not Pashtuns. Pashto and Pashtunwali has a tremindous appeal like religions or ideologies or social issues or cultural themes have.

Thats great that some one at least shows interest in attending such meetings and events.

I request all the friends here and all Pashtuns anywhere in the world to contact each other and may ask the addresses and other information of the people residing in the same county-district or city or sub division or even state or province and may organize meetings in a public place or a home or office of some one who can offer the facility.

We can contribute a small amount for the food and entertainment. The name of such groups may be named after Pashtun Forums as PF Chicago, PF Ohio, PF London, PF Islamabad, PF Kabul, PF Kandahar , PF Quetta, PF Peshawar etc etc.

The reports of such events may be published here in PF or other Pashtun sites, magazines , newspapers etc

Osho, I consider it a great idea. However, the planning is what makes it a futile excercise. Since you came up with this idea, you might as well give us an outline of what you have in mind. Don't mind but by simply telling others to meet and do this and that is not gonna work as you can see the level of support for your idea here. Unless people actually bother themselves to take it seriously, it's not going to work. So my suggestion would be to at least share your proposal with us and then we could work hard to plan, organize, and execute it. I would suggest consulting Admin Khan as well.
PF is a platform that helps us to unite (thanks to Admin Khan for this noble effort). It would be great if we actually streamline the idea and later achieve it practically. Rather than doing discussion here on threads (which I really like though :P), I would prefer to work in a more practical sense
"O Pakhtuns!, Your house has fallen into ruin, let us rebuild it".
"I want to see my people educated and enlightened. A people with a vision and a strong sense of justice, who can carve out a future for themselves in harmony with nature".

I'd be willing to meet up with you if your coming to my side of the town. You can be my guest.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

I really appreciate the interest and concerns of the members for the idea that along with the virtual world contacts we may also build confidence to meet each other in the real world and organize formal and informal meetings, seminars, conferences etc on the themes of Pashto , Pashtunwali and the issues related to Pashtuns without any prejudice or discrimination of country, dialect, tribe , status and approach or school of thought. The only binding factor should be interest in Pashtuns related matters and we may not be interested in any one personal or private life and inclinnations as many such efforts fail when we entangle ourselves en trivials and forget about the main goals.

For me this is just an idea and I dont have any out lines and I may make some general out lines but I being a follower of democracy and egalitarian values of Jirga in Pashtunwali , will leave it open to each group specific situation, resources, timings, and other specific details.

Each group may meet each other in the way and manner they can and make it. Some times the end determine the means. The end is sincere service of Pashtuns, Pashto and Pashtunwali. Nothing less and nothing more. Other ideas, concepts, beliefs etc may not hijack our goal.
