People suffer, from the top to the lowest. Everyone suffers in one way or the other. Its as if life is nothing but suffering. Everyone wants to be a movie star, movie starts die in various ways that shows they could not handle the suffering.
Why are people suffering? This is not some deep philosophical question, this is a basic question.
The reason people are suffering is because of their ego and the ego of others. It is as simple as that. So, when people talk about the danger of ego, its not some new-age nonsense talk, its a matter of life and death.
From the first human who killed another human to the holocaust and atom bomb, all of that has been the work of ego. Bin laden was an egoist and Bush was an egoist and between them the thousands who died go unrecognized, that is the reality of life. Of course there is no God to balance things and provide justice. There is no God and there is no justice. There is no cartoonish hell in the tradition of Bible and Quran, hell is in this world.
