Business ideas in AFG? property business? transport? ??

Salaam,

I'm thinking of starting a business in AFG .

What are the advantages/disadvantages of setting up a business in third world countries/developing countries?

Is property business any good - in light of the political situation?

How about transport , like a coach service?

How much budget would I need minimum?

It's got to be something that is needed. I can get a budget from relatives...so it is actually gambling with other people's money...but I won't take the gamble, until i'm almost sure that i won't lose. I don't want to start a business in the West, because of interest and so on.

but you have to work hard, because one forum is not enough, you have to be in lots of forums and that also gives you a chance to stalk someone who's interests you know... your sleep will be ruined and next thing you know you have burned all the bridges behind you.

If I would have been thinking this, I would go for the transport service rather than property! For it will generate revenue a lot quicker. Rest it's your choice.

How much of budget you need depends upon the scale of your operation. I basically don't know Afghanistan's routes and costs. Yet depends on which scale you want to start your operations.

Last but not the least, An Afghan guy used to study with me here in Karachi. He is back to Afghanistan now. I'd no interaction with him until few days ago we had a chat on FB and there he revealed that the cost of Internet in Afghanistan is alot comparing to Pakistan. Can anybody give me the insight? So you can do a research and invest there as well.

Investing in transport will be a better idea.

But you would need hell alot of money.

I can give you example of Kundi Coach service from DIK to Peshawar.

He initially had just 2xToyota Hiace service to b/w dera ismail khan and Peshawar.Today he has more than 30.And monthly revenue in millions.

Investing in Property is safe But will earn you less while investing too much.In transport you will invest more but the revenue will also be higher though it also involve the risk of accidents

My uncle is a mechanic and he ships cars of different makes to Afghanistan through the Arabian sea. He's made quite some money of it and recently sent new 2010 toyota Highlanders to Afg.

However you should find out first what kind of necessities afghans want or need before jumping into starting a business.
