What do you guys put down on forms that require a racial designation? In the past I have marked one or the other but it kind of pisses me off because we don't fit the classic idea of either Asian or Cracker.

Asian or Caucasian for official forms?
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

I don't live in America (thank god) so this doesn't apply to me. However i would put asian since Pashtuns are central asians and Afghanistan is in the Asian continent. Caucasian in America mostly refers to white people and thats why people like Arabs don't mark that. Seriously the best they can have is "other" with a fill in the blank!
Btw why does America still rely on the concept of race to calculate demographics? Especially with such weak choices."Revenge is a dish best served cold".
-Old Pashtun proverb

"My Pashtun Pride i will not hide!"

the census bureau has Caucasian as anyone of European, Caucus or Middle Eastern origins. But I usually say asian
He is no different than us,he blindly believes in the words of other men,:
2010 Admitting he's a blind believer not in God, but what other men says.

This has been a really good question... especially because of the durrand line, classifying Pashtuns as White Americans (because Arabs, Iranians and other mid-easterners were classed as that) or Asian Americans is a serious problem. Moreover on one side the Durrand Line, a Pashtun is considered Desi South Asian american with his pakistani and indian friends while on the other side of the durrand line, ...
Okay, in all honesty, it depends on what Arabs say... and what about Uzbecks Turkmens?

The sad thing is we are now kind of excluded from both, Last time there was a chinees and some native Belgium clasmates saing that I am no Asian that Asian are only the mongolian kind of people....-_-. When in in fact for melinia Asian was refered to people like us, becuase Turkey was once called Asia minor. And the Iranian people including Afghans and Indians were called Asians......
Uzbacks and Turkemn look more mongolian so they can choose Asian, them choosing causasian would be kind of weird.

Caucasian.Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.
A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

same, some east asians think middle and south asians aren't asians....Originally posted by Khostai View PostThe sad thing is we are now kind of excluded from both, Last time there was a chinees and some native Belgium clasmates saing that I am no Asian that Asian are only the mongolian kind of people....-_-. "other", if there is not other option then you can sit there and cry for an hour.
You should be more inclined to select Asian over Caucasian because for example i once filled out an application where if you clicked Caucasian the drop down menu would have "white (i don't remember the actual term here but you know what i mean), middle eastern/arab" and we are not considered middle eastern. If you clicked Asian the drop down menu would have "east asia, south asia, central asia, west asia" and we are technically central/southwest asians.
The problem is when an application doesn't even have the option of "Asian" and has "Asian/Pacific Islander" instead, because in that case they are definitely going to assume you're east Asian.
tough life being a minority.
