  • do you work from home or office?

I have been home this week working from home, using the webex software, which allows me to use my office computer directly from home. it is so easy!

why do we need to go to office when we can work from home? especially for people who spend so much time in the rush hour traffic daily, they should work from home most of the days

I do allot of work at home. But sometimes I need to go for assignments to my customers. Working at home has its benefits but I do enjoy leaving my home for work. Its very difficult to work via telephone and computer on daily bases. The telephone is exhausting and sitting all day is bad for my health.

I'd rather do something where I can travel more and meet people face to face. Plus I enjoy driving or traveling with public transportation while I am listening to audiobooks and lectures.

isn’t it surprising that the most common reason cited by those questioned in a study about telecommuting, was that working from home was a job requirement

what about meetings and face to face interaction with your colleagues and other visitors, discussions with your boss, correction of the documents and other team works?

if you have kids or family, you would be so distracted to do anything on time.. If you don't, you wouldn't bother to get off the bed and would be walking around in your pyjamas all day. And who needs to to lead a life like that. The experience of working in an office along with other people, doing presentations and all that could be very helpful in the long run.
You need to communicate with your supervisors and colleagues and holding up meetings to keep that many employees educated on matters could be extremely stressful. You need to keep your professional and personal life apart from each other or one will take over the other and you will end up being miserable.
The entire process of getting up in the morning and driving to your worksite can be motivating. On my day off, you are lucky if you see me leave my room which is why I almost never have a day off. But then, if I had a desk job and was expected to sit still for more than 20 minutes in one spot and that too, in front of a computer, I would shoot myself in the head.
