Both Freud and Jung to me are a complete mystery, and they will always be a mystery, which is ironic because the same people acted as if they had a telephone line to the inner being of all their patients.

    God complex or pure narcissism, I don't know and I don't give a sh't.

Jung's theories make more sense. Fraud's have been mostly proved wrong. I personally find Jung's work more useful and worth studying further and in to.

What brought Freud and Jung together was competition, and once the competition was over they were complete strangers. This raises an interesting question, is competition ultimately a desire to seek companionship, even if that means a rival?

Sadly, I think there is some truth in that, but also if one needs enemies in order to feel connected then that itself is neurotic behavior.

Is this like the Easy E and dr Dre beef discussion of sophomore psychology students?

Freud contribution cannot be denied. Making psychoanalysis and concepts of id, ego and superego very popular. Theories of dreams and unconscious are his huge contributions. Freud was against religion and termed it as escape and fallacy. Sexuality was every thing for Freud.

Jung concentration on subconscious , individuation and religion as a tool for it is also interesting. However Jung was against the formal ritual religion but focused on exploration of occult and thus tendency towards spiritualism and mysticism. Jung can be called a Sufi psychologist. According to Jung Sex was only one driving force of humans.

I don't really have anything else to say about Freud and Jung, honestly, nothing.

Perhaps that is what Freud and Jung always strove for, to be talked about, and I'm not going to indulge that fetish.

Both of them nothing but predators. No wonder they could not talk without all those animal metaphors and similes - black wolf, tiger, etc...

They also thought all of their male patients were the so called man-child type and had their heads up their arses... Well, they were wrong.
