Staff Message:

                  Hallo & afghan

Posting in a language that very few members undertsand in a thread not related to said language constitutes spam.

If you wish to continue your conversation in Russian, you can have it via visitor messages.

Alternatively, you could make a thread in this sub-section: Languages بین المللی ژبی and have all the Russian conversations you could desire. It could help other users learn more about the language and could result in productive discourse between yourselves.

If you like, I could rename & move this thread to that sub-section.

As mentioned in the Forum Rules (that no-one seems to read), spam & posts just for the sake of posting are frowned upon.
Further similar postings in this thread will result in warnings.

                  ---
To advise others is an easy matter, the difficulty is accepting advice -- since it is bitter for those who follow their
                  own inclinations and desires
                  .

                      Done.

As for my response to this thread,

Inability to discuss or debate without resorting to insults (at least from the vast majority of users)
                      Negativity
                      Unproductiveness (it's not a word, I don't care)
                      Childishness
                      Divisiveness/Dis-unitedness (also not a word)
                      Large egos

                      etc etc

Really a microcosm of the real-world Pashtun community - I guess PF really succeeds in that regard
That's not to blame anyone in particular (whether islamist, communist, secularist or whatever else -ist) - we are all to blame, including myself.

If everyone made some effort to be a bit more friendly and respectful (even to people who you may not feel necessarily deserve it) then I believe we could see far more productive discussions. Everyone is too tense & up-tight always trying to prove their point, refusing to even consider other viewpoints, defending their egos & making up petty insults instead of genuinely wanting to engage in a productive discussion that we can all benefit from. No-one's asking you to be friends with people who are your 'sworn enemies'. Just try to keep your focus on the big important issues rather than your petty squabbles that frankly no-one cares about (even though to you they might mean the world).

Around 2700 people visit the forums on a daily basis. Your actions are read and scrutinised by all sorts of people. Those people make their assumptions about Pashtuns based on your actions (although they shouldn't but whatever). Be mindful of that in your discourse.

I have spoken to numerous ex-PFers elsewhere who say that because of the aforementioned issues, they left PF and would not return until things changed (I quote "It's all the same ****. They don't change"). If they didn't have the potential to contribute to the forums then I wouldn't really care if they left but that is not the case. Many people are deterred from posting here because of the problems everyone has. I think it would be nice if we could change that.

This has all been said by others before. It evidently fell on deaf ears. Maybe what I am saying is futile and i'm just some self-righteous peace-loving optimistic hippy with unrealistic aspirations for this forum. It's worth a try at least.

                      /end rant

(also there are positive things to be said about PF too that I didn't mention. If there weren't I wouldn't still be here)

In Kabul during the communist era I use to attend school. Then I briefly stayed in Moskow. There I picked up some more Russian.
