based on logic and proof or mythology?

this notion that alchohol is something alien to Pakhtuns is laughable...never mind the fact that our pre Islamic ancestors indulged...

C'mon, Master Khan. You've GOT to be kidding me. That's one of the most obvious lies Muslims are fed.

Qrratugai, greetings and peace be with you.

The thing is that most people from our region associate drinking with the completely "wasted" drunk people they see in their Bollywood movies. For them, it's an abomination. They say drinking results in car accidents but they don't know that people high on religious fervor kill ten times as more people as drunk drivers.
"If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be".

"Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives".

                              A reminder:
                              • Consuming alcohol is a grave sin in Islam. Allah says it is the mother of all evils and the door opener to many more in many parts of the Quran and this is clarified in many Ahadeeth. Speaking about your sin and flaunting it openly in front of your friends is haraam, and is a major sin. It is one of the ways of spreading immorality among the Muslims, encouraging evil and tempting others to do similar things. It also means that one does not take sin seriously and regards it as insignificant, and that the sinner is damaging his own reputation and exposing his honour to the slander of others. Islam seeks to put people off from doing such things in the strongest possible terms.
                              • Allah conceals all sins and that is out of Love for His creations and urges us not to reveal them for the above reasons. On Yaumul Qiyamah, the believer will be brought close to his Lord until He conceals him and makes him confess his sin. Allaah will say: "Do you remember such and such a sin?" The man will say:" Yes, I admit it." Allah will then say: "I concealed it for you in the world and I forgive you for it today. Then He will close up his record of good deeds. (Hadeeth).
                              • Another point I would like to make is that we all like to joke, laugh and bring humour into many things. However, like everything else in Islam, this too is done within certain limits. Rasulullah (SAW) and the Ashaab joked and laughed about certain things. They too had a sense of humour, however, as Rasulullah (SAW) says himself, do not exaggerate, fabricate or lie when you joke, especially with regards to matters of sin, both concerning ourselves and others.

I will thank Mahzala for opening the thread again on my request. I will request all of you to share useful information and argue if you are in favour and alrgur if you are against. As mahzala said, religion islam is the backbone for our society, I agree with this, but perhaps someone will not agree with this notion, then what to do with him. We have few ways to deal with him.
We can throw him away of the society by forced exile.
We can kill him to get rid of him.
We can force him to accept our way.
And the other way can be to argue with him to convince him for our point of view if we consider ourselves right.
If we are unable to convince him, then leave him think about it. If he consider his way right, respect his opinion and accept him as the useful society member.

In my opinion the last way can be much much useful.

See how alcohol consumption became forbidden?
It did not happen abruptly, first it was said that it has advantages and disadvantages as well, but disadvantages are more than the advantages. why this step was used before the final order. Because it prepared and convinced mayn through its logic as if alcohol has more disadvantages, then why it should be used. Then time to time it is mentioned what are the problem with alcohol consumption.
However, I smoke cigarette and shisha sometimes, but never drunk alcohol. In my opinion alcohol consumption for pashtun is more cultural than reoligious. Otherwise many things are forbidden with the same strenght in Islam but we pashtun commit the sins socially and we dont care for it.
And here we saw the reflection of this by closing this thread.

                                Lets discuss it again.
