How do we ask the person below us a question? Shouldn't it be the person above instead. Just sayin

'ask the person above you' - Only that person would be able to answer the question. Makes it limited. Also there's no guarantee they'd answer.

'ask the person below you' - Anyone can answer the question. If they don't feel comfortable with the question or they can't think up a decent enough answer then they don't have to post and can wait until a better question comes up. The whole thing is more open.

I figured it'd encourage wider participation and will let us get to know each other at a pace that's comfortable for each of us.
If enough people want though, we can change it to 'ask the person above you' (though I think that'd be pointless since you could ask that person a question anytime you wanted).



The thing is, half the people in this thread are missing the part where I said that you have to answer the question above you as well as ask a new question for the next person...stop being lazy ¬.¬

Why is the area between two southern corners of Kaaba, (rukn yemeni and rukn hajr aswad) kept clear during dhur salat at masjad al-haram?

the cleared area is called the hateem and only a little part of it is part of the kaaba. it's kept clear not only during the zuhoor prayers but all prayers besides nafils. hazrat ibrahim pbuh with his mother bibi hajra used to live there. their physical graves might be located there. it's also the spot where jibrail approached the prophet to take him to for meraaj in the skies. it's kept clear so people can focus on being in the kaaba instead of looking for the grave sites and to give an opportunity for those who would want to pray nafil while being that close or with in the premisses of the kaaba.
