  • History: your thoughts on this statement?

What springs to my mind after reading this quotation is how this not only applies to Indians but Pashtuns aswel and amongst many other races the white man has conquered, also this is still happening but its never too late to resist.

    What to say?
It doesn't surprise, neither did he invent something new. The annihilation of education is actually the key of enslavement of people

      What a find . . .
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

      -Ferishta, 1560–1620

        Awesome dig Man!
        Where did you find it?

I find the essence of this speech a virus that is self replicating and embedded in all those people i would consider suffering from inferiority complex, those who reject their culture, the wisdom of their sages, their way of socialising and living - those who really replace their culture, speech, way of thinking to that of the western ways, because to them these western ways appear better than their own. I am not referring to what is right and wrong but to the acceptance of what is ours or our way.

India was very wealthy before the british came. also the thing is, India was always a fertile land, so no one had to beg for food. Unfortunately modern economic system and urbanization have a taken a toll on almost every third world country, people have become so poor. In a village no one goes hungry, but a in a city they do

people were not allowed to worship according to their own religion, speak in their native language or pursue any sort of a formal education. not because they believed their religion or language was superior to the one of those they were colonizing but because they wanted the people ripped off of their identities and disassociated from their land.
not just with nations, but with individuals too..anyone with the intention of taking away from you your sense of identity has the intention of breaking you down.

all the skin whitening companies who make a killing selling their crap in india have this guy among others to thank.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.
