Allama Iqbal's writings were good, but he was one of those delusional south asian muslims who thought muslims in south asia didn't belong to India or south asia, thus he created the two nation theory or at least was one of the founders of that theory. The funny thing is that his grand father converted from Hinduism if I am not mistaken. I think only around 10-15% of south asian muslims actually came from outside and settled in south asia

what delusional youth? How? Iqbal poetry describes Islam, he was like a Seer. Such deep poetry can only come out if Allah is guiding you!

Read what Islam says on "two nation theory"!!

4:97. Verily! As for those whom the angels take (in death) while they are wronging themselves (as they stayed among the disbelievers even though emigration was obligatory for them), they (angels) say (to them): "In what (condition) were you?" They reply: "We were weak and oppressed on earth." They (angels) say: "Was not the earth of Allâh spacious enough for you to emigrate therein?" Such men will find their abode in Hell - What an evil destination!

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “I am not responsible for any Muslim who stays among polytheists. They asked: 'Why, Apostle of Allah? He said: ‘Their fires should not be visible to one another.’, and he (peace be upon him) said, “Who joins the polytheists and lives with them then he is like them” and he (peace be upon him) said: “Migration will not end until repentance ends, and repentance will not end until the sun rises in the west.["Al-Musnad", Vol.4/99, Abu Dawud, Kitab al-Jihad, Vol.3/7, Hadith 2479, and ad-Darami, Kitab as-Siyyar, Vol.2/239. Albani classifies it as Sahih. See: "Sahih al-Ja'mi' as-Sagheer", Vol.6/186, Hadith 7346.]

Actually he didnt advocated two nation theory, it is mutala e pakistan stuff. In muslim session of allahabad in 1930, he called for "autonomous" (not independent) muslim states within domain of india. State at that time was equalent of province...for source you should read authentic book 'murder of history' by A.K.aziz.
Two nation theory thinking stirred after 1937 elections, took some shape in 1940 resolution and gained momentum in late 40s.
