Speak for yourself, I crave cold weather. The UK isn't cold enough especially in summer

I live in dubai. I am sure you immigrant americans know where that is
land of opportunities for everyone, as long as you can handle restricted freedom - come on to be honest how much rights do our countries give us? Thats why all the poor arabs, iranians, SE asians, and westerners are sitting here.

I lived in germany; DZJ you will like some of it, it gets to < -15 C and mostly in the 10s rest of the year except summer. Organised efficient great healthcare, cafes, markets, but they do close early. I couldnt handle the darkness and the wetness. My jeans would soak upwards from the feet when it rained.

Lived in UK. Great for the legal immigrants, I met so many successful professionals, pakistani and indians - accountants doctors brokers. there are great benefits for unemployed, i met so many pakistanis living on the 'dole' with council homes rent paid for, long termers. even the napohee do well driving taxis and running corner shops. Amazingly i also met so many who acquired money fraudulently by dealing, scams, vat frauds etc. that country has so many loopholes that the authorities just cant cope.

Oh yes i spent a lot of time in pakistan before moving to saudi arabia. I liked quetta, swabi and chitral. Unfortunately the bureaucracy was riddled with corruption and nepotism. I hear it is a lot better now.

Lived in saudi arabia. I felt blessed to be living amongst the people of our nabi (s). The politics did affect me in the beginning, lack of support of poor and oppressed muslims, the harsh treatment of non-western foreigners meted by the saudis, but i didnt join or form a resistance group against this injustice, i just worked, prayed and saved money. If i could i would like to live and work near makkah or madina. I dont need dubai's flash.

Back home, I visited zabul often as a kid when my neeka was alive, later lived in sarobi as a kid. I have beautiful memories of mud wall houses, those brown woodpecker bird with a crest on its head eating the seeds we left for the zerka, blue skies and good life, as a kid. Of course the reality of impending troubles dawned on me quicker than my years.

Now, I would like to live in or near kandahar, or kabul (either sarobi or west of qargha or towards shamali).

Exactly, west of qargha all the way to paghman. You are right, it is predominantly pashtun. I am looking into it. But it gets cold in the winter, and my old bones and joints are suffering. I am taking my fish oil pills size of bullets.

Its not that bad you know. So many afghans there. I was in hamburg, full of afghans. When Vali gave a concert, there was a fight between skinny afghan boys with pencil line beard, over a girl, its that authentic, the fighting and chivalry.

The western provinces like Alberta and Saskatchewan is cold. Warmest regions are southwestern Ontairio and the two cities Vancouver and Victora in BC. They're good, not too cold, Vancouver and Victoria is warmer i suppose.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
