it depends on how you use your vocal cords. when you over use them, they become loose so you have to put more effort to get the voice out and that is how it ends up being high pitched. environment may play a role but climate surely doesn't. and stop thinking about pointless stuff.

Pashtun men have soft voices? I don't think so. I have a deep voice for a 19 year old.

This thread is seriously stupid. Not all Pashtuns have soft voices and not all then have deep voices. Everyone Is different, it has nothing to do with race at all. I think you need to stop speaking for all Pashtun men on behalf of yourself.

Actually we need example(s) before we can comment.

Mullah Zaeff speaking English is one possible example. Not unusually high pitched but does lean towards that range more so than not. I MAY know what the original poster is referencing but still not sure.

Not sure I can agree with you. It varies by age, and I feel like the same algorithm applies to all ethnic groups.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Low pitched voice is the pride of Pashtun men, just like a lion is proud of it's roar.

Doesn't high pitched voices in our culture indicate a kuni?
