Aryan Sakazai opened one of his stupid thread with this poll.
How does it come that so much voted for communist?
I can't understand it because communist brought to Afghanistan lots of pain which is still continuing.

Well I didn't vote because it was all stupid choices
I'd go with Islamic law but that was attached to Taliban which us not exactly the same
And communism failed in it's own country why would anyone in their right mind chose communism in this day and age ? After seeing it fall in Russia :-/

Communism has its ups and downs. One of the positives is that it keeps its people in check like controlling the amount of freedom someone has which is not really a bad thing. For example porn websites and magazines and the sale of illegal material which are all banned and serve jail time. Something the west needs to learn from.

I was shocked too, but i think result is out of a joke, they can't be serious.
I myself also want an Islamic government but i am against Taliban's behavior.

As far as I know, the vast amount of Afghans in the west were made homeless by the communists and fled Afghanistan.

Just after 1992 alot of Ex-Communists arrived in the west, mainly in the Netherlands, Sweden, some in England and Germany.

I don´t think your comment is correct.

I have yet to meet a single person who has actually lived under Communist regimes that regrets leaving.

Restriction of freedom of the press doesn't require Communism at all. See your own Canadian government's actions against 'hate' speech...

They must be a bunch of lurkers who are too ashamed to admit to being communists among the other pashtuns here.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

Ahh who cares the system was a failure anyways

these are the people who just disappeared from afghanistan after 92, literally and figuratively. look at rashid dostum, after najib he was no longer a communist commander but a "mujahadin" commander.

We young people can hardly be associated with Khalq/Parcham style communists/ex-communists because this whole crap happened way before we were even able to understand politics.

I think the communists you are talking about, Randolph, have their own websites and communicate in Dari and Pashto.

And since communism itself is not an ideology or a religion but a form of state (the state of a sociaty), no one can actually be a communist per se. You have to live in such a system and work for it´s sustainment otherwise you can´t be a communist.

According to Marxist theory Communism can be achieved after the world has overcome a socialist form of state. As far as we know this hasn´t been accomplished.

So everyone who calls himelf a communist must be a fraud or a guy from the future.
And since time machines haven´t been invented yet, we can go for the first.

                              There were no Afghan communists.
There were some Afghan socialists who tried to change sociaty but failed.
And there were alot of hacks who just went with the flow and were beneficiaries of that system.
                              The only constant is change.
