    its not that simple.

these defections happend when russians had left.
you probably think that tajikistan and Afghanistan were same countries or that those planes belonged to them as well.

majority of those where given by the great mujaheddin to the napakis after 92 , as scrapmetal , same goes for public transportation busses in kabul ...

defected pilots are a myth , they would have been killed and excecuted on the spot , most of them just went underground ...

Well there are aroudn 15 planes in that museum of Pakistan Air Force .. I'm not sure that all of them belong to Afghanistan. But this one that you shared was a Russian I guess and forced by the Pakistani Pilot to land at Peshawar. I'm not sure it's been long i went there and I don't know what was written on that board beside it :/

There were planes that did fly north, I am not sure about tajikistan, but it happened after the fall of the najib regime.

no i am not joking , those people didnt decided to just take a chance and had a sudden change of heart , those few who ran over switched sides long before ... due to personal reasons or cash

but majority of planes also the ariana air lines were sold/given to the pakis .... after the war

When the Soviet Aid stopped, everyone was thinking about their own survival. The whole country was looted
