OOOoOOooh, does anyone know what a lawyer is called in Pashto? :D that's right -- Qrratu! lol.
I'm Qrratugai.
The "Q" is pronounced like "qaaf" as in "Quran" and the "rr" is actually ONE letter in Pashto/Urdu/etc. that is pronounced like "RH" as in "parrrhhhna" (reading in Urdu).
k, now that the pronunciation is done, I can tell you the meaning of the loveliest and *most* uniquest name online :D
"Qrratugai" comes from "qrrate," meaning blathering or nonsensical talks. Qrratu is someone who does a lotta qrrate. I added "gai" to it to make it known that I'm FEMALE. (And STILLLLL, many people call me "wror" or "bro"
) Heck, for males, it would be "Qrratugey"! hmph.
k, bottom line: "Qrratugai" = a girl who talks a lot.

lol, thanksOriginally posted by Afghanprincesslol!
I enjoyed reading that.
Well, I'm not sure. I thought it was in all dialects, but perhaps it's not, or at least it's pronounced differently in each dialect. I'm from Swat, but the nick "Qrratugai" was given to me by 3 friends, Pekhwari, Kabuli, and Mardaani. And then my family has always called me "Qrratu" for talking too much :DOriginally posted by AfghanprincessI have never in my living life heard of the word qratu in Pashto.
Is that exclusive to your dialect?

You know Qrratu, I think the total opposite. Qrratugey is female, Qrratugai is male. Well, I definitely need a voice clip for this to decide because everyone's transliteration varies.
Oh and AfghanPrincess, you haven't? We say it all the time, especially to lil kids who are just learning to talk - Wakh tsenga qrratu dai ...

Rrrrealllyyy?? Whoa! If you think that, at least a few others must think that too! And that's why they refer to me as "bro" or "wror" so much! K, that makes sense.Originally posted by *Mesbah* View PostYou know Qrratu, I think the total opposite. Qrratugey is female, Qrratugai is male. But we say "plaaney" ("so-and-so") when referring to male and "plaanai" when referring to female. Or "khaaperey" (masculine) and "khaaperai" (feminine)
Awww maaan!! That ruins everything now
